Jimmy Donaldson runs the largest YouTube channel of an individual. Many know him better as “MrBeast”. For about a year now, you can also buy chocolate from the YouTuber, the brand is called “Feastables”. To improve sales, MrBeast has come up with something interesting.
Who is MrBeast? The largest YouTuber in the world. With his currently 136 million subscribers, MrBeast has one of the largest channels on YouTube and regularly gets over 100 million views on his videos.
MrBeast is known for crazy actions that no normal person can afford. For example, he once paid for eye surgery for 1,000 people or showed his viewers what you get in hotels that cost 1 million US dollars per night.
Typical in the industry nowadays are differentiation strategies. YouTubers want to build further financial pillars. MrBeast tries to do this among other things with chocolate and demonstrates what market advantages arise there as a large influencer.
Even in Germany, influencers are trying to establish themselves with their own products – including the “King of the Internet” Knossi. Learn more about his career in the video:

What advantage does MrBeast use? Already at the launch of his chocolate brand “Feastables”, the YouTuber utilized his reach. He announced at the beginning of 2022 that you could get chocolate for free on the Feastables website for 10 minutes. This cost MrBeast over 1 million dollars.
The current Feastables campaign is less expensive, but possibly equally effective. MrBeast urges his followers on Twitter to tidy up the displays of Feastables chocolate in supermarkets:
He writes that it would make him happy. Also, a side note that the chocolate will soon no longer be exclusively available at Walmart. Accordingly, MrBeast is currently building a team that will take care of the displays in supermarkets – but until then he needs the help of his viewers and followers.
Shortly thereafter, the “Feastables Shelfie Clean-Up Sweepstakes” went live on the Feastables website – a raffle (via feastables.com). If you enter your details here, as well as “before and after photos” of the tidied supermarket shelf, you have a chance to win $5,000.
How is it being received? Under MrBeast’s tweet, many users are posting that they support the campaign. However, many trolls are also among them. The response with the most likes simply copied the pictures of MrBeast and wrote: “Just at Walmart and tidied this shelf”.
The mood is positive, even though many trolls are ridiculing the project.
An interesting discussion is being sparked by Twitter user “@mws” (via twitter.com). He suggests that influencer and content creator brands could take over supermarkets in the future. Other brands would struggle to create such a strong connection to the product.
What do you think? Have you tried influencer products? Which products would you bring to the market if you had the reach? Leave a comment on the topic.
