His own viewer numbers have become meaningless to him. The hype around Lost Ark is mainly based on Twitch Drops and because of the release. That will soon fade.
Why all the hype? In addition to the factors mentioned by xQc, other aspects fuel the hype.
Among the main reasons for the commotion surrounding Lost Ark is the long-standing hunger for new MMORPGs.
Additionally, the gameplay style of Lost Ark attracts fans of Diablo. Since its release, the MMORPG has certainly been the biggest game in the world on Steam.

As one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, it would actually pay off for xQc to stream Lost Ark, the currently biggest game. However, he refuses and now explains his reasons.
Who is that? Félix “xQc” Lengyel is a Canadian Twitch streamer. He originally started his career as an Overwatch pro, but had to end it early due to a lack of impulse control and related outbursts of rage.
- His followers, however, seem to be little bothered by his angry demeanor. Rather, he has developed into one of the largest Twitch streamers .
- As of January 30, 2022, he has 9.9 million followers and on average around 100,000 people watch him while streaming (via twitchmetrics).
- He was recently trolled by his fans for spending too much time on the GTA role-playing server.
With the release of Lost Ark, many of his viewers are wondering: Why isn’t he streaming the new Free2Play MMORPG that is currently making such big waves?
Lost Ark is too “grindy” for xQc, no longer a fan of MMOs
This is why he is not playing Lost Ark: In a stream, xQc mentioned that Lost Ark is no longer the kind of game he enjoys.
Specifically, Lost Ark is “very grindy”, demanding a lot of time for collecting loot. He says:
Will I play Lost Ark? Probably not. […] It is a very grind-heavy and very MMO-like game. That is not really my specialty these days. I have played MMOs all my life, and I think I had my fun.
When confronted with the fact that Lost Ark is such a big deal right now, he replied: “I don’t care. Do you want to know why? Because I don’t play shit based on how many views it gets.”
The hype surrounding the MMORPG seems to bother him very little, and he does not intend to profit from it just for financial reasons. Streamers who do that are, in his eyes, “weird”.
His own viewer numbers have become meaningless to him. The hype around Lost Ark is mainly based on Twitch Drops and because of the release. That will soon fade.
