The Fortnite player Turner “Tfue” Tenney is the Twitch streamer with the most followers. He is now accused of engaging in a “Witch Hunt” and sending his fans to annoy people who defeat him in Fortnite. He allegedly urged his fans to seek the dismissal of a player.
What situation is this about? Tfue is currently playing in a 4-man team in the Fortnite Champion Series (FCS), which is a competitive tournament series.
His team lands in the region “Steamy Stacks” in the northeast of the map – it is common for eSports players to specialize in a landing spot in Fortnite to start every match from there.
Tfue and his team are considered impulsive. They tend to get worked up over losses and engage in constant trash talk. When they die, they often think, something is wrong because the opponents are just “Dogshit”. Players are often accused of being “on console” and using the overpowering aim assist.
Here in the clip, you can see that Tfue is killed by the player Nefereux at Steamy Stacks during a team fight. The defeat was bitter, as it was a “important game” – after this loss, Tfue’s team argued and broke their current streak. (via dexerto)
The current accusation is that other players are deliberately hunting down their team and landing where Tfue and his team land to seek a fight and gain “Clout”, meaning fame.
Anyone coming to Steamy is looking for a fight with their team to gain the glory of having taken down the huge streamer Tfue – at least in the eyes of Tfue and his teammates.
It is said that another team is “contesting” the landing spot.
Tfue sees this behavior as one of the reasons for his team’s mixed performance in the series. It annoys him.
He accuses the other teams of doing this “for fame”.
The eSports organization “Luminosity Gaming” is affected by the accusations. Tfue says live on Twitch:
“Hey, everyone here in the chat, please message Steve from LG and tell him to release the player.”
Tfue on the Twitch channel.
Steve Maida is the owner of LG.
Tfue has been playing with his old friend Cloak and two younger partners for some time now. They seem to be very reckless.
The player who is to be kicked is the Fortnite pro Neferux from LG, who was part of the group that challenged Tfue at the spot.
“Anyone can land wherever they want”
This is the accusation: On reddit , a member from Neferux’s team claims that Tfue is so angry that he is intentionally stirring things up. This is clearly a witch hunt.
The accusations are also ridiculous: No one from the team is a content creator, no one is on social media. They therefore do not want fame.
The map of Fortnite is free for everyone. Anyone can land wherever they want.
Tfue says “LuL” – Others take accusations more seriously
This is how Tfue sees it: He does not take the accusations that he incites players against others seriously. He writes on Twitter “DROP HIM LUL” to Luminosity.
Tfue seems to believe that such urges are just a joke, and no one takes such statements from him seriously.
This is how Nefereux sees it: He says his team takes competition seriously. They trained at this spot. What Tfue is saying is complete nonsense.
They specifically tried to practice against Tfue’s team there this week – it has nothing to do with fame-seeking.
This is how others see it: On reddit, Tfue’s behavior is taken more seriously. The fact that some top players think they “own” a spot and that other teams shouldn’t land there is viewed critically.
Overall, Tfue’s behavior is seen as problematic – he is considered toxic.
