Elias Nerlich is one of the biggest streamers in Germany on Twitch. Now he has become the target of a hacker attack: In one fell swoop, the streamer’s Ultimate Team account in FIFA 23 was emptied.
Who is it about? Elias “eliasn97” Nerlich made his breakthrough in eSports, is co-owner and founder of the team “Fokus Clan” and today he is one of the biggest Twitch streamers in Germany.
According to the portal twitchmetrics, he is even number 1 in Germany when it comes to average viewers: He ranks with currently 33,452 viewers on average ahead of colleagues like MontanaBlack or Trymacs, and he is also at the top with a peak of 93,016 concurrent viewers.
Elias Nerlich is one of the biggest names in FIFA 23, he hosts the popular “Eligella Cup” among other things and also founded a real football team called “Delay Sports Berlin.”
But now there has been a heavy blow concerning FIFA 23: As Elias Nerlich recounts, he was hacked and a large part of his FUT account was destroyed.
Elias Nerlich was hacked – Team and coins in FIFA 23 gone
On Twitter, the streamer reported that his PSN account was hacked and now his FIFA account is gone. Someone apparently took over Elias Nerlich’s account and immediately started selling the players from his club.
In no time at all, players worth around 33 million coins were simply gone, reports the streamer on Twitter. In FIFA 23, that is an extremely high amount, with which one could build almost any fantasy team.
In a video on YouTube, Nerlich summarized the situation again and showed how he noticed live during the stream that he was hacked. There, it can be seen how he first realized that he was logged out of the PSN – only to then find an email from EA saying that his FUT account was banned because he was allegedly transferring coins on the market. Those were the first signs that something was not going as it should.
Shortly after, it became clear that the account was hacked and practically “gone”.
In the video, the streamer summarizes again that he had actually taken all security precautions for his PSN account, but the hacker apparently still managed to gain access. After that, the FIFA account was next:
“They wiped all my coins. I had 9 million coins, I had 130,000 FIFA Points, that’s over 1,000 euros in converted value. I had a team that cost around 20 million or so – even more. This account is worth about €10,000,” Nerlich calculates.
He describes the incident as bitter, but hopes to get the account back. However, the streamer criticizes that it was even possible for his account to be hacked despite having taken security precautions.
Nerlich also refers to the top list of transfer sums in FIFA 23, in which he was also found. One of the top traders in FIFA 23 contacted him via Twitter and explained that players from this list, with valuable FUT accounts, are often targeted by hackers.
In the video, Elias Nerlich also reports how he talked about the situation with Twitch streamer Trymacs – he too has been hit in the past. Trymacs reported last year that he was hacked in FIFA 22 – and that twice.
Back then, other large content creators commented on FIFA, such as “RunTheFutMarket” or “Bateson87” on the hacker problems in Ultimate Team.
