What change is involved? The upcoming changes, which will be introduced with Season 14 in January 2024, promise major changes to the Summoner’s Rift map, which is already playable on the test server. Here is a brief summary for you:
Changes in Season 14
- The red and blue terrain will be aligned to allow for more equal movement across the map, making it less dependent on the side of the lane to escape or gank easily.
- Monsters on the map will get a Void-style makeover, including new features.
- The Mid Lane will overall be wider than before, which is one of the few changes to the Mid Lane.
- The bush in the river on the Bot Lane will be placed more centrally.
- A new path will be added in the red terrain to the river area.
- There will be three different Barons, each with its own abilities and pits
- The “Hunting Baron” is the classic, already known Baron.
- The “Territorial Baron” places a wall directly opposite of itself, creating two separate entrances; the abilities are not yet known.
- The “All-Seeing Baron” creates a long tunnel, in which it stays in the middle; the abilities are not yet known.
- One of the three Barons will spawn at minute 20.
- Before that, Voidgrubs will spawn in the Baron pit and can be killed for buffs
- Starting at minute 5, 3 Voidgrubs will spawn, and once one is killed, the timer resets.
- In total, 6 of them can spawn in a game and will disappear at minute 14 to make way for the Rift Herald.
- Players can now not only fight for control over the Herald but can also use its power themselves by riding and controlling it.
- Blue and Red Buff monsters will get stronger from minute 20.
- Mythic Items will be removed.

“We are going to have a completely new game,” the streamer says on November 20, 2023, about the topic in his stream. He emphasizes multiple times that he is very excited about the upcoming changes and is very satisfied with how much of the current map is being renewed.
