What is special about the weapons in Dying Light 2? Most weapons in Dying Light 2 are melee weapons, which can only be repaired using this trick. You can find these weapons randomly in the open world, and they come in the rarity grades known from MMORPGs, ranging from “common” to “legendary”.
Where can you find good stuff? Weapons of “rare” quality and better are found in crates dropped by parachute over the city. They usually lie on tall buildings, and you can recognize them from a distance by the parachutes fluttering down from the buildings.
A good source for particularly powerful weapons are the GRE trailers that you can open with your GRE key. However, keep in mind that the weapons inside are fixed to the level you have when picking them up.

Apart from various weapons you find as loot, there are special ranged weapons that are available at fixed points in the game and the story, and which are usually ranged weapons.
Bow: Since there are no firearms left in the city, bows are your first choice for effective ranged combat. Unfortunately, dead archers do not leave behind usable bows, but you can earn your first bow in the mission “Wal(t)zertanz”. This mission becomes available when you leave Alt-Villedor.
As an alternative, you can also buy a bow from traders starting from level 3.
A particularly strong bow can be found in the shoe mission. It is located in Lawan’s apartment.
Bangstick: Later in the game, you can take on the Observatory mission. Once you complete this, you can buy the blueprint for the “Bangstick” from Peacekeeper traders. This is an improvised firearm that you can then craft. The Bangstick only has 2 shots, but they hit hard, so save one for particularly strong enemies.
Peacekeeper Crossbow: This weapon is one of the strongest instruments of death in the game. You can only get it by conquering areas for the Peacekeeper faction. With the fourth reward level, you will receive the “Crossbow Package”. You will get a semi-automatic crossbow that fires very quickly.
You can also craft various bolts, and the weapon even scales with your level! Just that is a good reason to serve the Peacekeepers.
