Streamer and VTuber Youna “CodeMiko” Kang took home the award for “Best VTuber” at the Streamer Awards in 2022. Now CodeMiko has revealed her new VTuber avatar, exciting her fans.
What are VTubers? VTubers are gaining more popularity on Twitch and other streaming platforms. The streamers do not use their real face as a webcam but rather an anime-like avatar. This avatar moves according to the movements of the person behind it, also known as the VTuber model.
Recently, VTuber Ironmouse broke all records on Twitch and held a subathon that lasted a whole month. She was also nominated for the Streamer Awards but was beaten by CodeMiko.
CodeMiko unveils her new, stylish VTuber model
This is what CodeMiko’s old model looked like: The streamer has changed her model twice, and her previous VTuber model looked like this:
Small, cheeky knots as pigtails and orange hair with red highlights. Plus, a short black pair of pants and a crop top that displayed the latest chat messages.
This is what CodeMiko’s new model looks like: In a stream, CodeMiko excitedly showed off her new model, which has been “significantly improved”:
She still wears a crop top and black pants. However, the textures have now been improved and the leather pants shine as well. Additionally, the proportions have been adjusted to be much more appropriate. The character is now similar in size to CodeMiko herself.
But one thing particularly excited the fans: The new hair. Not only the color, but also the physical properties are significantly better than the old model.
Fans are thrilled with the hair, but also divided
What do the fans say about the new model? The fans are divided about the VTuber model. While some are completely excited, others point out that it now looks “too technical”.
The old model had a prettier face, and some viewers apparently preferred the body.
The majority, however, were excited about the hair, which you can see in the Twitch clip compared to the old one:
They move much more naturally and swing dynamically, while the previous hair simply remained static in the same spot. Individual strands occasionally fall into the avatar’s face.
Viewers spammed “Wow”, “I love the hair”, “This is so wild” and other compliments in the streamer’s chat. In just a few seconds, the chat rattled down the most diverse messages while the VTuber excitedly swung her hair.
Soon, fans will only see CodeMiko with the new model; they will have to say goodbye to the old one.
Another Twitch streamer was also excited, which led to a loud moment: Small Twitch streamer reaches important milestone, then blows up his car live.
