Place 2: 107.3 Morro Rock Radio
- Genre: Rock, Pop, and Hip-Hop
- Recommendations: Never Fade Away and Chippin’ In by Samurai and Friday Night Fire Fight and Trauma by Rubicones
The decision between Morro Rock Radio and the first place on this list was absolutely not easy for me, as Morro Rock exclusively plays the band that has entertained many fans for over half a century in Cyberpunk 2077: Samurai, the rock band in which Johnny Silverhand played.
The band not only produced absolute bangers, but they also play a significant role in the story of Cyberpunk 2077. With songs like Black Dog, Chippin’ In, and my personal favorite Never Fade Away, you can often look forward to a Samurai hit on Morro Rock Radio. But the other songs on the channel are also not to be underestimated.
Other titles from the channel, such as Who’s Ready for Tomorrow, were also prominently featured in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime based on the game.
This almost “teenage” rebellion of many songs and the classic rock sounds of Samurai fit perfectly with the relationship between Johnny and V and the themes that run through them. Therefore, with Morro Rock, you can always find a title that fits the events of the game in a way that can be laid over road trips, walks, or confrontations as a soundtrack.
What also speaks for the channel: Morro Rock has its own radio host, making the station feel more realistic, as if it’s firmly established in the world.
Morro Rock Radio definitely deserves the first place, were it not for the radio station that I simply cannot skip.
