Place 4: 88.9 Pacific Dreams
- Genre: Lounge and House
- Recommendations: Real Window by Quantum Lovers and Miami Suicide by Talk To Us
Pacific Dreams is one of the radio stations that delivers more relaxing beats. Compared to the other calmer channels like Royal Blue or Samizdat, Pacific Dreams, however, is the one that plays truly strong melodies despite purely instrumental and calm tracks, which you’re happy to hear when they come back in rotation.
I really want to recommend Real Window by Quantum Lovers (in reality Brian Aspey), a truly successful track with a melody that has captivated me since the first listen. Like the rest of Pacific Dreams, and fitting the name of the station, it sounds almost dreamy and peaceful. A nice counterbalance to all the action and overwhelming sounds in Night City that is sometimes just necessary.
It reminds me of the vibe and sound of a song from the radio of GTA 5, Mirror Maru by Cashmere Cat, which had the same effect on me back then.
Besides the relaxing cruising through Night City, Pacific Dreams is also excellent as a companion for studying or other activities where lo-fi-like music can help you concentrate.
