Destiny
Bungie has touched a nerve with players with the shared-world game Destiny, similar to what Blizzard did many years ago with World of Warcraft. The focus on the search for ever-new loot as well as exciting and varied cooperative missions is always enjoyable.
Although the presentation of the story is not as convincing as in other titles, it is primarily the cooperative aspect that keeps players coming back to play. With the addons and DLCs, there is plenty to do, including raids.
Conclusion: Classic raids and boss fights in an action game? Unthinkable for many. For Destiny, it is the cornerstone of success. The fact that each weapon affects gameplay and – sometimes only subtly – changes it has led many players to spend thousands of hours in Destiny.
