Crystal cores are among the rarer resources in Genshin Impact. You automatically receive them as soon as you collect Crystal Butterflies. MeinMMO shows you all the locations where you can find multiple Crystal Butterflies directly.
What do you need Crystal Cores for? You mainly need Crystal Cores when you want to loot efficiently in spheres or at “The Prosperity of Elements”. With Crystal Cores, you can craft “Enhanced Resin” at the Alchemy Table. All you need for 1x Enhanced Resin are:
- 40x Resin
- 1x Crystal Core
You can craft a maximum of 5 units of Enhanced Resin. It grants you double loot in spheres and at The Prosperity of Elements. However, Enhanced Resin does not work on bosses.
Sometimes you need to collect a certain number of Crystal Cores to progress in events.
Additionally, you can craft these 3 items with Crystal Cores:
- Winter Resilience Potion (Alchemy Table)
- Windstill Potion (Alchemy Table)
- Adeptus Gourmet (Blacksmith)
Locations for Crystal Cores in Mondstadt
Morgenröte Winery

Worthwhile locations in Mondstadt:
- Statue of the Seven northeast of Morgenröte Winery – 3 Crystal Butterflies.
- At Morgenröte Winery between the vines and near the houses – About 9 Crystal Butterflies.
- Good place to also farm Philanemo Mushrooms from the house walls.
- Statue of the Seven at Windstieg – About 4 Crystal Butterflies.
Locations for Crystal Cores in Dragonspine
In a corner near the Slumber Dragon Valley 
On a small island southeast of the snowy path
Worthwhile locations in Dragonspine:
- Use the teleporter near the Slumber Dragon Valley, then head southwest. Follow the path over the broken bridge until you reach a small broken tower where three small white fairies are waiting for you. Collect them to generate a gust of wind that catapults you onto the tower – 3 Crystal Butterflies.
- Take the teleporter south of the snowy path and then fly to the east. There should be a small island – 3 Crystal Butterflies.
Locations for Crystal Cores in Liyue
At Tianheng Mountain 
At the sphere near the Guyun Towers 
South of the sphere at Aocang Mountain 
Southwest of the sphere at Mingyun Village
Worthwhile locations in Liyue:
- Fly from the teleporter south of Tianheng Mountain to Tianheng Mountain. In front of it, there are several monsters guarding the entrance to the mountain – 6 Crystal Butterflies.
- Good for farming Crystal Chunks and Noctilucous Jade.
- Teleport to the sphere at the Guyun Towers – About 5 Crystal Butterflies.
- Take the sphere in the north of Aocang Mountain and walk south towards the moss-covered dragon figure. Next to it, there is a underpass where you will find them – About 4 Crystal Butterflies.
- Teleport to the sphere at Mingyun Village and walk southwest. There is a underpass there – 3 Crystal Butterflies.
- Good for collecting Noctilucous Jade.
Locations for Crystal Cores in Inazuma
At Amakumo Peak on Seirai 
North of Tatarasuna on Kannazuka
Worthwhile locations in Inazuma:
- If you use the southern teleporter and drop at Amakumo Peak on Seirai, you can pick up several Crystal Cores inside and outside – Up to 12 Crystal Butterflies.
- Also worth it for collecting Amakumo Fruits.
- Take the teleporter north of Tatarasuna on the island of Kannazuka, climb the mountain to the south, and walk to the electrically charged tree – 5 Crystal Butterflies.
With this guide, you can easily collect about 57 Crystal Butterflies and thus also 57 Crystal Cores.
This could help you while farming: The 4-star character Sayu has the ability that Crystal Butterflies do not fly away immediately when you approach them. However, if you collect one and others are nearby, they will still flee.
Characters like Venti and Kazuha can also help you with their elemental abilities. They are catapulted into the air with them and can catch Crystal Butterflies that flew into the air and were about to escape.
Crystal Cores do not spawn during rain and every 48 hours.
