Dragon riding is already the best feature for many players in WoW Dragonflight. While not everyone is managing with the “Elan” system, they take it with humor and process their failures into memes. Even Blizzard is joining in and hits exactly the right note.
What feature are we talking about? Dragon riding is one of the new features in Dragonflight. You will receive your first dragon quite early in the campaign, which allows you to fly through the Dragon Isles. You can even customize the appearance of these dragons.
You cannot fly normally in the new areas, but only with the help of the dragon – which you can also do as a duo. The special thing is that the dragons cannot just fly at any time but are subject to physical laws.
Instead of hovering constantly, you must launch into the air and also be able to maintain your position there. In a descent, you are faster and collect “Elan”, with which you can use dragon abilities like a boost forward or an upward thrust.
If you continue to ascend, you will lose momentum, and eventually, your dragon will run out of breath. You slowly sink to the ground, and the flight ends until you have collected Elan again.
For many, dragon riding is already the best new feature, and they wish that it permanently replaces “normal flying” in all of WoW. You can see gameplay here:
This is currently occupying players: In the community, dragon riding is one of the biggest topics. Dragonflight started with many problems, but at least here, almost everyone agrees: Riding dragons and exploring the world is fantastic. There are also races against time to further test the feature.
The only problem is that many fail at the Elan system. They try to reach particularly high places and misjudge their flight. Instead of landing coolly in elevated positions, their dragons run out of breath and they flutter down in a shameful descent.

Through the glyphs, you enhance your dragon’s abilities. You gain more Elan, it charges faster, or you get things like a shield after landing. Accordingly, many players are trying to collect the glyphs.

I tried to get to the highest glyph in Valdrakken and slipped down from the platform – only to realize that two other players were also stuck there. Both waved at me.
Others jokingly wonder who recorded their gameplay and forwarded it to Blizzard or confess: “That’s too real. For the highest points, I had to make stops and recharge Elan.”
