Why You Should Play Neverwinter
What is Neverwinter?Neverwinter is an action-packed online role-playing game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. You choose one of currently 9 typical D&D classes, including Fighter, Barbarian, Ranger, Cleric, and Rogue, as well as the Bard, which was recently added. You fight your way through primarily linear areas and complete quests.

Additionally, you follow a complex story that unfolds over the course of each expansion – known as modules. The modules are released every few months and offer at least one new setting along with a story. Sometimes new classes and races are introduced as well.
Ideal for: Neverwinter is the right MMORPG for players looking for a solid, classic MMO that is regularly expanded with new content but costs nothing. Because Neverwinter is completely Free2Play.
There is also a strong focus on D&D, particularly on the current 5th Edition. Virtually every aspect of Dungeons & Dragons has appeared in the game. Be it dragons, dark elves, frost giants, wild jungles, or the horror setting Ravenloft. In 2020, there was a descent into hell with a longer story surrounding Avernus, while the latest addon takes you to Dragonbone Vale in January 2022.
Is there a catch? Yes, as a mode of transportation with the new update. But all jokes aside – Neverwinter is Free2Play. However, throughout the game, you are often reminded that you could spend money too. There is an in-game shop where you can spend relatively large amounts of real money and purchase not only cosmetics but also items that contribute to game progression.
This is what Neverwinter looks like.
These are the great features of Neverwinter
This is how Neverwinter plays: Neverwinter is based on a pen & paper role-playing game, but the combat system is pleasantly fast and dynamic. Each class has a unique selection of skills and can fulfill its special role on the battlefield.
The skills and combinations that your heroes master are quick to perform, making even the grind against hordes of enemies a lot of fun. So, those who appreciate fast battles and distinctly different classes will get their money’s worth here.
New content arrives this often: Neverwinter has been around for over 8 years now, and the abundance of content is impressive. 22 modules have been released since then, covering a large part of the D&D features. A new module is released roughly every 3-4 months.
Among them are classic D&D settings like the Temple of Elemental Evil or the Dark Elf setting Underdark, as well as curious things like a trip to the horror world of Ravenloft to the vampire lord Strahd. This makes the MMORPG still interesting 7 years after release.
