Your choice of class in Baldur’s Gate 3 greatly determines how you fight and what you experience. One of the best features, however, are the class-specific dialogue options. On reddit, users have now chosen barbarians, the dumbest
class, as those with the best responses.
What are class-specific dialogue options?
- In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can choose your own responses in conversations with NPCs, which have a strong impact on the gameplay: Your responses can initiate battles, end romances, or unlock new information.
- Depending on your choice of race, class, and background, your character may have quite special response options. These can open up entirely new gameplay paths.
- These class-specific dialogue options come in different rarity levels.
Players find that the dumbest
class has the best dialogues
Which class do players find the best? On reddit, players shared their favorite class-specific dialogue options in a thread. They particularly enjoy what the barbarian
has to say in many situations.
Barbarians are a tank class in Baldur’s Gate 3, characterized by their high strength and constitution, but also their usually very low intelligence. This leads to a barbarian often having the option to solve many situations with muscles rather than brains. Here are a few examples:
- In Act 1, you can rescue Shadowheart from her capsule, for which you first need to trigger a mechanism. A barbarian can simply try to tear the door off.
- In the barn at the ruined village, you can catch an unequal pair in the act of intimacy. Barbarians can give the troglodyte tips for
a better performance in bed
. - In the underground area of the ruined village, there is a magical mirror that grants you passage only after solving some puzzles. A barbarian can also simply smash the mirror with a rock.
Reddit users find all the many special solution options very amusing. User Fairum-Z writes that you can also just wake up an NPC and thus initiate a surprise round in the following fight: Barbarians don’t care about anything and I love it.
Also popular is the intimidation tactic of the barbarian: You can just roar at your counterpart instead of articulating words. According to user whocares670670, this reliably increases approval among all companions.
However, particularly good are the scenes in which a barbarian has to fight against his nature. At one point, an NPC demands the character to be quiet. A barbarian can say to himself: Remember, quiet voices!
At another point, a barbarian has disadvantage on the roll focus VERY hard to not scream
.
Do other classes also have cool options? In second place behind the barbarian is the bard. Due to their high charisma and sharp tongue, they are born leaders. They are also so good that they can defeat one of the toughest early opponents with their charm.
Larian Studios has also considered some obscure dialogue options that only come into play in very specific situations:
- A cleric of Selûne who romances Shadowheart can give her an idol of Shar. In the subsequent dialogue, one can choose,
just accept my gift and kiss me as if you hate me
. Shadowheart responds that this is no problem, but she doesn’t know how to incorporate that into her prayers. The characters then kiss. - A druid who is in a romantic relationship with Halsin can say after the intimate scene:
I feel even closer to nature now that nature has been inside me
. - The scene mentioned earlier in the barn at the ruined village can be commented on by bards as follows:
For such debauchery, they would pay good money in Baldur’s Gate.
- A cleric of Mystra can say in a conversation with Gale, Mystra’s former lover:
You slept with MY goddess?
- Paladins are often regarded as very stiff. However, they have some of the best combat dialogues in the game, such as
Your god against my oath, let’s see who is still standing at the end
.
Just for the many different dialogue options, it is worth playing multiple runs with different classes or multiclassing in Baldur’s Gate 3.
