The best perks for PvE content: The Halfdan-D is the only Forsaken auto rifle with the slowest rate of fire of all auto rifles. However, the individual bullets deal significantly more damage. If you want to mow through the ranks of aliens, you should look for the following perks:
- Sight – SC Holo, GA Post
- Magazine – Stable Rounds, Tactical Mag, Alloy Magazine
- Perk 1 – Lawless, Dynamic Recoil Direction
- Perk 2 – Kill Clip, Rampage
The Halfdan-D has the second-lowest stability of all auto rifles, so you should pay attention to stability when choosing the sight and magazine. As the reload speed is also rather poor, the Lawless perk works wonders (reloading after a kill goes faster).
Lawless also harmonizes perfectly with Kill Clip, which grants bonus damage after reloading following a kill.
The best perks for PvP content: In the Crucible, the Halfdan-D can demand a lot from you; missed shots will not be forgiven. However, if you can land a series of critical hits, you achieve the optimal TTK (Time to kill – time to defeat an opposing Guardian under optimal circumstances) of 0.83 seconds.
For this, you need the right perks:
- Sight – SC Holo
- Magazine – Stable Rounds, Swap Mag, Tactical Mag
- Perk 1 – Tap the Trigger, Dynamic Recoil Direction
- Perk 2 – Outlaw, Kill Clip
Here, it’s all about stability and range. The Halfdan-D already has an excellent range of 82 without the Scout, and with the perk, you can pick off opponents from even greater distances.
