7. High Albedo
The pistol “High Albedo” fires 3 rounds in a salvo with one pull of the trigger. You equip the primary weapon in your kinetic slot.
Here’s why the weapon is so good: For a small pistol, this weapon deals an enormous amount of damage. You can chain kills together very quickly even without traditional damage enhancements. The perks give you a gun that constantly provides ability energy or enhances your stats and is easier to handle.
What are the best perks?
- Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling (+5 Stability, Range, and Handling)
- Tactical Mag (+10 Reload Speed, +5 Stability, +10 Magazine Size)
- Slot 1: Ambitious Assassin (after quick kills, you have more shots in the chamber) or Deadly Wind (kills temporarily enhance range, handling, and mobility)
- Slot 2: Reservoir Burst (weapon kills generate ability energy)
Where can you get High Albedo? You may have recognized it by its red-blue design, you can obtain this weapon on Europa. So, off to Variks.
Is there a current alternative? You can still use Bruchlicht in Season 12. This unassuming gun created a real hype around pistols, but is going into retirement soon.
8. Xenoclast VI
The shotgun “Xenoclast VI” fires a wide spread of projectiles, hitting everything in front of you. It requires special ammo and deals Arc damage.
Here’s why the weapon is so good: This shotgun intrinsically grants you a faster running ability – this is exactly what made the retired 150 RPM revolvers so popular.
Moreover, the Xenoclast VI likely has one of the largest perk pools of all weapons in Destiny 2. This is both a curse and a blessing, as you can customize the weapon extensively, but you may take forever in your pursuit of your god roll.
What are the best perks?
- Barrel: Smallbore (+7 Stability and Range)
- Magazine: Assault Mag (+15 Stability, +10 Rate of Fire) or Tactical Mag (+10 Reload Speed, +5 Stability, +1 Magazine Size)
- Slot 1: Outlaw (increases magazine reserves as well as faster reloading and preparing when you crouch) or Auto-Loading Holster (stowed weapon is automatically reloaded after a short time) or Grave Robber (melee kills reload the magazine)
- Slot 2: Vorpal Weapon (more damage against bosses, vehicles, and enemy supers) or Double Punch (if an enemy is hit by the entire salvo, your melee damage increases) or Tubular Barrel (after a melee hit, the weapon gains more damage for 3 shots, reloads faster, and has better handling)
Where can you get Xenoclast VI? You can randomly receive the shotgun after completing Strikes and the Nightfall: Fire Trials. Other guardians have also reported that you might get one from Commander Zavala with a bit of luck.
The weapon offers many strong rolls, but the god roll is likely to be the hardest to farm from this list.
Is there a current alternative? Yes. Recently, the Seraph shotgun was brought back into the game. It also gives you the lightweight bonus and can create Warmind cells. Additionally, from December 8th, the Ikelos Shotgun can also be found again in the dungeon.
