5. Friction Fire
The submachine gun “Friction Fire” is a primary weapon for the kinetic slot. It fires 600 rounds per minute and hits hard at long distances for an SMG.
Here’s why the weapon is so good: The submachine gun clears out where it should: in close combat. You mow through adds, increasing your damage, and minimizing annoying reloads. You have an ideal weapon that you can pair with almost any special weapon on this list.
What are the best perks?
- Barrel: Smallbore (+7 Stability and Range)
- Magazine: Tactical Mag (+10 Reload Speed, +5 Stability, +1 Magazine Size)
- Slot 1: Danger Zone (enhances reload speed, handling, and stability when enemies are nearby) or Outcome (kills partially reload the magazine, but you have reduced reserves)
- Slot 2: Frenzy (increases damage – stackable up to 3 times)
Where can you get Friction Fire? You can also obtain the submachine gun as loot for Wrathborn Hunts. Visit the Crow (Uldren) in the Tangled Shore and activate the bait.
Is there a current alternative? Currently, you won’t find a real alternative for the kinetic slot. But in the energy slot, there are two: The Ikelos SMG and the Seraph SMG. Both can create powerful Warmind cells.
6. Wrath of the Corrupted
The linear fusion rifle “Wrath of the Corrupted” is equipped in the power slot. The heavy weapon deals Solar damage and charges briefly before you release a precise shot at long distances.
Here’s why the weapon is so good: The linear fusion rifle is the wildcard of this list. Hardly anyone really has these weapons on their radar.
- However, it shines in the new Lost Sectors. Here, you must move slowly, and with only a few shots, you can take down a champion and eliminate mid-tier enemies in no time. So if you’re still farming the 6 new exotic armor sets from Beyond Light, give this weapon a chance.
- Linear fusion rifles deal good damage even against raid bosses and are among the underdogs.
What are the best perks?
- Barrel: Smallbore (+7 Stability and Range) or Hammer-Forged Rifling (+10 Range)
- Magazine: Liquid Coils
- Slot 1: Steady Hand (increases precision, stability, and handling when firing while crouched)
- Slot 2: Frenzy (kills grant super energy) or Overcharged Rounds (the last shots in the magazine deal extra damage)
Where can you get Wrath of the Corrupted? You can exclusively obtain the weapon from the Wrathborn Hunts of Season 12 or afterwards from the Crow.
Is there a current alternative? Not really, but that might not be a big deal for most. The only options will expire as soon as the next season starts.
If you are looking for more very powerful legendary weapons, the changes to the loot pool will benefit you. If you haven’t got Falling Guillotine or Cold Denial yet, you should also hunt some of the best weapons from the past:
On the next and last page, you will find another primary weapon and the gun with perhaps the largest perk pool.
