In addition to the MMORPGs listed in our top list, there are more titles that exist for the Nintendo Switch, but that we cannot recommend or that are not playable for us in the West.
Elemental Knights R

What kind of game is this? In Elemental Knights R, you start your adventure in a 3D anime world where you fight opponents in an action-packed combat system. At the start, you can choose from four different classes: Fighter, Cleric, Thief, and Wizard.
The focus of the game is on many dialogues, battles against enemies, and above all, fashion. The website advertises the game claiming that you can choose from over 2,000 skins to customize your appearance.
What is the issue? Elemental Knights R is a mobile game that received a port for PlayStation and Switch. Accordingly, the graphics are weak. Additionally, it is free on mobile devices, while you have to pay about 10 euros for the Switch version.
Another point of criticism is the localization. Some cutscenes are only in Japanese, the translations into English are often unsuccessful, and in the tutorial, they can even be confusing. You can get a glimpse of the game in the video from YouTuber Solo Wing Fury:
Onigiri

What kind of game is this? Onigiri is an MMORPG from Japan set in a mythical world where humans and non-human creatures like Oni or Yokai coexist. You play as a character whose playstyle is defined purely by their equipment. There are no classes in Onigiri.
The MMORPG is characterized by two main features:
- A very action-packed combat system
- Various NPC partners who support you in combat and bring their own personalities and abilities
What is the problem? The MMORPG has very weak graphics, and there are frequent performance issues.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis

What kind of game is this? Phantasy Star Online 2 is an MMORPG from Japan that was first released in its original version in 2012. In 2020, the game came to the West and received a continuation, New Genesis, in 2021, which, however, is played on the same client.
In New Genesis, you can choose from various classes to explore an open world and fight against gigantic bosses. The game has been pulled onto a new engine and offers good graphics with New Genesis. The MMORPG particularly impresses with its action-packed battles and cool jumps that allow you to climb buildings.
At the end of 2021, there was also the first major content patch with a new area, a new max level, and plenty of new equipment.
What is the issue? Phantasy Star Online 2 can currently only be played on the Nintendo Switch through a cloud solution. As far as we know, this is currently only possible in Japan. When the West will also be able to play PSO2 on the Switch is not known.
