Palia
Setting: Cozy | Developer: Singularity 6 | Platform: PC with its own launcher, Switch | Release Date: August 10, 2023 | Model: Free2Play
What kind of game is this? Palia attempts to bring the feeling of Animal Crossing and other cozy games into the MMO genre. Typically, you quickly have an abandoned farmhouse that you can rebuild and expand according to your preferences.
Furthermore, you complete quests and improve your relationship with the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. Of course, you are also engaged in gathering and collecting different materials, as is typical for such a game.
- Palia can particularly score with its building menu. Few games offer such detailed building options as Palia does. Items can even be placed completely free of any grid.
- Everything you can do alone, you can also do together in Palia. Whether you cook together or go fishing or hunting together.
- There are no Pay2Win contents; the shop in Palia is purely cosmetic.
- The game is currently still in early access and is regularly expanded with new events. Progress made can be carried over to the final release.
- Cross-save between Switch and PC is possible. You can continue playing with the same character on both platforms.

What has happened recently? Since the start of the open beta (which, in the case of free-to-play MMORPGs, is commonly equated with a quasi-launch), a lot has happened. You can now also experience Palia on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
In addition, all versions of the cozy adventure are regularly expanded with patches. On October 23, the update “Autumn Splendor” was released, bringing trading plushies and many new decoration options. In November, the “Season of Splendor” update followed, which provided preparations for the Christmas festivities.
For whom is Palia interesting? Palia is exciting for anyone who wants to step away from the typical MMORPG grind. The game slows down and does not primarily reward grinding. On the other hand, you often face time gates that prevent progress on the same day.
If you are looking for a cozy second MMO that you can play without stress or just a little bit, the cozy MMO Palia is perfect for that. After an hour of gameplay, I’m sure – it’s not a classic MMORPG, but exactly what I need right now
