Twitch streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris has a difficult past and now speaks out about violence against and by police officers.
This is the bad boy of German Twitch: Twitch streamer MontanaBlack committed several crimes before starting a successful career as a content creator. He discussed this in several YouTube videos and also in his two autobiographical books.
Along with regular burglaries, trespassing, and theft, he struggled with drug addiction, which he claims was the cause of his crimes. In addition, the current streamer regularly sprayed graffiti, something he seems to still be doing today. Officially, however, he has put that behind him and now only paints bicycles.
MontanaBlack often faces criticism, even regarding his driving behavior:
“You have the right to shoot you”
What does MontanaBlack say about violence against police officers? In a past Twitch stream, MontanaBlack spoke about violence against police officers and came to the conclusion: “If you hit a police officer with your fist, then I think the police officer should have the right to shoot you.” (Source: Reddit).
He further explains that he does not mean a shot to the leg, but actually shooting someone.
The statement seems a bit ironic in light of MontanaBlack’s criminal past to some viewers. A Reddit user writes: “I didn’t know that guy was such a law-abiding citizen.”
Others remember that MontanaBlack didn’t seem to have much respect for authority when it came to taking his bike on the train, or when he stated that he is generally speeding.
MontanaBlack backtracks: A day after his statement, the streamer quickly backtracked, claiming he had “articulated” himself poorly. He does not mean that police officers should have a “free pass” to shoot someone if they are attacked.
However, it should be that a police officer should have the right to defend himself with his firearm in an emergency. Ideally, the shot should hit the attacker’s leg.
MontanaBlack further claims that one should not be surprised if one attacks the “arm of the law” if one gets shot or attacked. Using the service weapon should be the “right of police officers” (Source: Reddit).
The Twitch streamer concludes his statement by saying he previously phrased it incorrectly.
Despite his criminal past, MontanaBlack has achieved impressive success and wealth. Although he is so successful, he feels that he missed out on a lot.
