In Anthem, new events have started that are tied to the upcoming Cataclysm. What you need to do for the tasks and what problems currently exist, we summarize here for you.
What are these events? New events started in Anthem over the weekend. Although there was no official announcement from BioWare, it is assumed that the new tasks are pre-events for the Cataclysm.
In the game, you can find the new tasks under “Challenges” and “Echoes of Reality.” Currently, you will find three missions there, one of which changes daily. The task “The Imminent Storm,” which went online prematurely last week, is also included.

What do you have to do at the events? The tasks revolve around crystals that have emerged in the world of Anthem. What you need to do exactly can be found in the game under the challenges in “Echoes of Reality.”
There you will find the requirements for the tasks “The Imminent Storm” and “Crystal Collector.” Additionally, there is a daily task.
For “The Imminent Storm,” you must complete the following task:
- Defeat 60 crystallized enemies
- Destroy 20 crystals
- Complete 8 crystal world events
The remaining time for this task is indicated as just under a day, ending on the upcoming Tuesday, July 23. This countdown has already led players to conclude that this is a pre-pre-event and the actual pre-event for the Cataclysm will go live once this task ends.
For the quest “Crystal Collector,” you only need to complete three random crystal world events and have time until July 30.
What needs to be done in the crystal world events? The crystal world events appear on the map in Freeplay, just like all other events. Currently, one event with Skar enemies and one with Dominion enemies are confirmed.
In the event, players must shoot at crystals to collect them. However, this is complicated by crystallized enemies that appear in waves.

Besides the event, there are also some crystals to be found in the open game world.
What problems are currently there? Anthem players are reporting some issues with the new tasks. For example, it is possible to end up in an instance where the events are not yet live. If you do not see anomalies in Freeplay, you should leave Freeplay and restart until you can see these strange artifacts in the sky.

Moreover, there seems to be a problem with the crystallized enemies. Players report that not all kills of enemies count towards progress. Some freelancers believe that kills with ultimate abilities and skills do not contribute to progress.
Other players state that sometimes weapon kills do not count either. Therefore, the progress in this task is still inconsistent.
With the Cataclysm, new weapons are also coming to Anthem, which are currently not yet in the game:
