Anthem – Everyone is Iron Man
- What is Anthem? Anthem (PC, PS4, Xbox One) is a third-person MMO shooter by BioWare. Mercenaries in battle suits fight and die in a futuristic world. After the first images surfaced, people exclaimed, “They all look like Iron Man!”
- How has the development gone so far? Anthem is EA’s answer to games like Destiny or The Division. The project has reportedly been in development since 2012, and the former minds behind Mass Effect are involved. It is a AAA product, and unlike the indie games that are developed openly, we have no insight into the development.
Can Anthem reach its potential?
- What is Anthem at its best? At its best, it is a polished, well-thought-out co-op shooter with strong storytelling and a captivating world that will engage fans for years. However, even at its best, one should expect launch issues – this is the norm for such projects.
- What is Anthem at its worst? Even at its worst, Anthem should still be a solid game – perhaps missing the innovation many are yearning for. Content shortages, lack of polish, and microtransactions are minefields for Anthem that should be navigated carefully.
- What happened with Anthem in 2018: At E3 2018, new information about Anthem was revealed. The release date is scheduled for February 22, 2019. Notably, Anthem will only have PvE and no PvP mode.
