What is Dragon Ball FighterZ? The “Dragon Ball” game series has been known since the 1980s. The first “Dragon Ball” game was released in 1986. Since then, almost yearly new installments of the classic have been released. Dragon Ball FighterZ is the latest part of the series and was released at the beginning of 2018.
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, you take on the roles of heroes from Dragon Ball Z and fight in epic rounds for victory. In addition to a single-player campaign, there is also a multiplayer mode where you can compete against your friends.
The charging of the special attack is done through normal moves. The special attacks themselves are the classic moves of the Dragon Ball heroes, as known from the anime. The animations of the attacks and the fighters also remind of the anime.
Who fights here? You can choose from over 20 characters. These include well-known heroes Son-Gohan or Son-Goku. But you can also take on the role of villains like Kid Boo.
Why fighting here is particularly good:
- Fast gameplay is guaranteed, and the good combat mechanics can keep up with other fighting games.
- It is possible to interact with the environment, i.e., the arenas, and thus influence the game process
- The graphics of the attacks are cinematic and can compete with the anime – especially the special attacks are a spectacle
- The story mode presents the characters in a special light and makes anime fans sit up and take notice
Who is Dragon Ball FighterZ for? Of course, fans of the anime can fully immerse themselves here. The characters are almost as well animated as in the anime, and exude nostalgia.
But also players who are not Dragon Ball fans will have their fun. The combat movements are easy to perform and thus suitable for beginners, but through the timing that needs to be mastered and some combos, competitive players can also enjoy themselves.
On the last page, you’ll find a not entirely classic fighting game as a bonus.
