The MMO market in 2017 is more exciting than ever
The MMO genre has broadened: There are no longer just “fantasy MMORPGs” trying to sail as close as possible to the safe shore of World of Warcraft. No, companies are venturing out into the sea – the variety is increasing.
We have science fiction epics, almost madly ambitious projects, indie gems, Asia imports, and games looking to reminisce about the “good old days” – a time when there were more types of MMOs than just the one with the WoW effect.
We will examine the games critically in our list. We will only list the 7 most promising MMOs that we believe will either officially launch here in the West in 2017 or at least be in a playable state.
