Ashbringer
The Ashbringer is originally a weapon forged by Magni Bronzebeard and drenched in the power of the Holy Light. Alexandros Mograine wielded this weapon in the fight against the undead, who literally turned to ash under the attacks of the weapon.
After Alexandros was betrayed by his son, the weapon fell into the hands of the Scourge, which resurrected Andros and thereby corrupted the blade. The “Corrupted Ashbringer” was for a long time a coveted weapon and one of the first that gave players eerie whispers.
For a long time, there were rumors that one could find the Ashbringer early in the game or cleanse the Corrupted variant – but these were all community rumors that never turned out to be true.
Later the weapon fell into the hands of Tirion Fordring, who used it in the fight against the Lich King and shattered the weapon Frostgram.
Fordring wielded the weapon until the third invasion of the Burning Legion, where he died and the weapon was temporarily lost.
During the “Legion” expansion, the Ashbringer then found its way into the hands of the paladin hero and was linked to a cool questline that even picked up many rumors from old vanilla days.
Since then, the Ashbringer, in its numerous variants, has become a popular transmog for paladins – and it will likely remain so until the end of World of Warcraft.
Felo’melorn
The weapon Felo’melorn comes from the thalassian language and translates to “Flamestrike” – one of the most powerful spells of fire mages, even in Warcraft III. The blade belonged to the Sunstrider family and was first wielded by Dath’Remar Sunstrider in the War of the Ancients, and later also by Anasterian Sunstrider to fend off the Scourge (and fail).

However, Felo’melorn has been destroyed several times and has become stronger after each reforging. When Kael’thas Sunstrider reshaped the weapon with “magic, hatred, and a burning desire for revenge”, it became even stronger once again.
Felo’melorn was so powerful that the blade could even parry Frostgram. Ultimately, Kael’thas had to flee, and the weapon was lost in the process.
Years later, Lyandra Sunstrider set out to find the blade. She was obsessed with it and found it in Icecrown Citadel – where Arthas must have taken it. However, Lyandra was killed and resurrected as a member of the Scourge. It was here that the mage hero in “Legion” took the weapon from her.
Doomhammer
The Doomhammer is a weapon forged on Draenor. When wielded, it embodies the values of the orcs, such as honor, very highly. According to Orgrim Doomhammer: “When you bring the Doomhammer into battle, the fate of your enemies is sealed.”
The hammer has passed through the hands of many orcs – from Telkar Doomhammer to Orgrim Doomhammer and finally to Thrall, who wielded it for a long time during the time of World of Warcraft.
Thrall also wields the hammer during his fight against Garrosh Hellscream, which he ultimately kills without the hammer using the power of the elements.
At the start of the Legion expansion, Thrall loses the Doomhammer as it falls into the Maelstrom and from there to Deepholm. The Shaman Circle, with the help of the hero, retrieves the hammer, but Thrall believes he is no longer worthy of the hammer.
Like all artifact weapons, the hammer was used to save Azeroth. Where the hammer is now after losing a significant part of its power is not known.
There are two very special weapons on the next page.
