Many old fans and new players are looking forward to the remaster of Diablo 2: Resurrected. Therefore, we wanted to know from you which class is your absolute favorite and why. Here are your answers.
Here’s what it was about: This weekend, the open beta of Diablo 2: Resurrected ran, and many of you dove directly into the first two acts of the remaster to let old memories bloom again or to gather new experiences with the game.
Since one of the absolutely most important gameplay elements of D2 is of course the classes, we wanted to know from you in a survey which class is your favorite. Two classes were in a neck-and-neck race for the first place.
These are the results: A total of 1,012 MeinMMO readers participated in the survey. Each of you could only cast one vote for your absolute favorite class.
- 7th place: Assassin 5.34 % (54 votes)
- 6th place: Barbarian 8.5 % (86 votes)
- 5th place: Amazons 9.88 % (100 votes)
- 4th place: Paladin 15.32 % (155 votes)
Here are the Top 3 of your favorite classes.
3rd place: Druid
- Result: 16.5 % (167 votes)
This is the Druid: Originally founded by Vasily, a powerful Nephalem, the first school of Druids gathered the strongest fighters and most capable shamans of the tribes of Scosglen. Druids refuse to use traditional magic and prefer to rely on their close connection to nature and all living things. They are so closely connected to the world of Sanctuary that they can command the elements of fire, earth, and wind and call upon animals and plants for assistance.
Druids are a hybrid class in Diablo 2: Resurrected and can transform into animals like wolves or bears. With the “Fireclaws Werewolf” build, they can deal physical damage, similar to Barbs. A Beastmaster Druid can summon allies in battle to support him in the field. Wind and fire Druids use powerful elemental spells to sweep their opponents away.
2nd place: Sorceress
- Result: 21.84 % (221 votes)
This is the Sorceress: Only women with the strongest affinity for magic and the elements are accepted into the ranks of the powerful and ancient clan Zann Esu. The disciples of the Nephalem Esu strive for absolute perfection in their casting of magic and will settle for nothing less. Thus, the Sorceress Isendra, whom you play in Diablo 2, is unmatched in her power and handling of magic.
The skill set of the class is characterized mainly by strong damage and large area attacks that easily clear the hordes of hell out of the way. Builds like Meteorb or Blizzball Sorc, which focus on fire and cold spells, can also carry you through the toughest levels of Hell difficulty.
Additionally, the Sorceress has the small but significant advantage that she possesses the Teleport ability natively, allowing her to zip quickly through the map. A clear advantage when you want to efficiently farm bosses.
1st place: Necromancer
- Result: 22.63 % (229 votes)
This is the Necromancer: Actually, necromancers are only called that by outsiders. They refer to themselves as priests of Rathma, a powerful Nephalem and the son of Inarius and Lilith. Unlike any other order of mages in Sanctuary, these priests are dedicated to preserving the balance between life and death. Even if they have to use the dark magic of necromancy, which is usually only employed by the minions of hell.
Nekromancers are one of the most versatile classes in Diablo 2: Resurrected. They can have most minions on the field simultaneously or use the corpses of their enemies as weapons, happily blowing them up in the air. They also possess strong direct spells with which they can curse and destroy the hordes of demons.
How other communities voted
On our sister site GameStar, the same survey took place. Their results are as follows:
- 1st place: Necromancer
- 2nd place: Sorceress
- 3rd place: Paladin
- 4th place: Druid
- 5th place: Barbarian
- 6th place: Amazon
- 7th place: Assassin
The top two spots in the ranking are occupied by the Necromancer and the Sorceress in both surveys. Both GameStar and MeinMMO readers prefer corpse explosions over exploding fireballs and meteors, which is why the Necromancer has surpassed the Sorceress in the battle for first place.
Paladin and Druid still remain in 3rd and 4th places, but have swapped places in the GameStar ranking. Druid slipped to 4th place and Paladin climbed into the top 3. The same principle applies to Barbarian and Amazon.
On one point, you clearly agree with GameStar readers: The Assassin is your least favorite class, which has landed in last place in both surveys.
