What is Destiny 2? In the loot shooter Destiny 2, you defend Earth from an invasion of aliens as a Guardian. To do this, you complete numerous missions that lead you across the solar system. During the missions, you upgrade your character and collect powerful gear. The search for better loot is an important aspect of the shooter.
These game modes are available in Destiny 2: The game modes in Destiny 2 are divided into PvE, PvP, and even PvEvP.
PvE:
- Story: You experience the story through quests and seasonal events, as well as dialogues and cutscenes.
- Strikes are about 15-minute long linear missions for 3 players, where a boss awaits at the end.
- Nightfall: The Ordeal features the known Strike missions but with numerous modifiers and higher difficulty, along with special weapons – this is currently the hardest that Destiny 2 has to offer.
- Exotic Quests guide players in search of unique weapons across the universe, usually offering multi-part tasks.
- Raids are for 6 players – you fight and solve through multiple bosses and encounters. In the upcoming Season 14, the very first raid “The Glass Vault” will even return for everyone to play for free.
- Dungeons are basically mini-raids for up to 3 players, which can also be tackled alone.
- Seasonal Activities: Destiny 2 receives a new season about every 3 months and thus also a new seasonal activity. From May 11, you will hack into a network in “Override” – offering automatic player search for 6 Guardians.
PvP:
- In 6v6 battles, you fight against other players. You can choose between Rumble (every man for himself), Control (Capture the Flag), Conflict (Team Deathmatch), and fun modes like Mayhem.
- The Survival mode represents the leaderboard in the game, in which players determine their placement in 3v3 battles. Alternatively, there is also a competitive playlist where you only encounter solo players.
- Weekly Trials of Osiris take place, where special rewards are competed for in a K.O. system (with level advantages).
- Once a month, the Iron Banner event takes place, where level advantages are active in PvP and there is special loot.
PvEvP:
- In Gambit, 2 teams of 4 players face off against each other on different maps to defeat hordes of enemies until a final boss appears. The teams can make life difficult for each other and even invade the enemy’s battlefield.
What is special about the game? Loot plays a decisive role in Destiny 2. It’s all about finding better weapons and gear. These weapons also rotate frequently and are only available during special events like the Seasons. Since PvE and PvP content is intertwined, you can use your gear anywhere.
