What is Star Wars: Battlefront 2? In addition to a story campaign that narrates the events after the destruction of the second Death Star during the Battle of Endor, you experience action-packed multiplayer battles in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 set in the Star Wars universe. These take you to familiar planets from the film series.
You can fight in battles on the side of the “Good” (the Republic and the Rebellion) or the “Evil” (the Empire and the First Order). The use of playable heroes and villains such as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, who influence the battles with special powers, is particularly interesting.
These game modes are available in Star Wars: Battlefront 2: In addition to the single-player campaign, you can engage in these game modes:
- Galactic Assault: Two teams of 20 players each try to achieve victory in several war phases.
- Supremacy: Here, two teams of 20 players also compete against each other. The aim is to capture and hold command posts on a map.
- Starfighter Assault: In space battles, 12 players per team fight for victory.
- Hero Showdown: Two heroes fight against four villains. The team that survives at the end wins.
- Hero Starfighters: Basically similar to Starfighter Assault, only that heroes fly the ships.
- Co-Op Missions: A team of four players must cooperatively achieve objectives and battle against AI enemies.
- Strike: Eight attackers take on four defenders in close combat. The goal is to escort a payload or destroy two objectives.
- Blast: A regular deathmatch mode where two teams of 8 players compete for 100 victories.
- Ewok Hunt: Two Ewoks fight against 18 stormtroopers. Every defeated stormtrooper spawns a new Ewok. The Ewoks must defeat the Imperial soldiers, while the stormtroopers aim to reach a troop transport.
- Jetpack Cargo: Two teams of 8 players are equipped with jetpacks and must steal cargo from the opposing team.
What is special about the game? Star Wars: Battlefront 2 impresses with its Star Wars atmosphere and the heroes you can embody. Each hero such as Han Solo, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or the Emperor has their own unique powers.
You can even upgrade these characters. In multiplayer, you “summon” these heroes using earned Battle Points, which you should tactically time.
