Developer: DICE | Release: October 20, 2016 | Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One | Battlefield 1 website | Rating on Steam: 83% | Rating on Metacritic: 88/100
What is Battlefield 1? The online shooter Battlefield 1 takes you to World War I, where you experience, on the one hand, a single-player campaign, but also participate in team-based multiplayer battles with up to 64 players.
In doing so, it is important to choose an appropriate role such as medic, assault soldier, supply soldier, or scout. Usable vehicles are also available.
These game modes are offered by Battlefield 1: You have the choice of 6 modes that come with the main game and four others that were added via DLCs.
- Conquest: Teams attempt to capture and hold specific points on the map.
- Team Deathmatch: Both teams can respawn and have a quota of “lives.” The team that runs out of lives loses.
- Rush: Attackers must try to plant a bomb at two locations. The defenders want to prevent that.
- Domination: Basically similar to Conquest, only you fight on a smaller map.
- Carrier Pigeons: A kind of capture-the-flag. Your task is to intercept and defend carrier pigeons.
- Operations: See below “What is special about the game?”
Additional modes with DLCs:
- Frontlines: The mode combines Rush with Operations. You must capture control points on a map and fight your way to the enemy base.
- Supply Drop: The teams fight over dropped supplies that will give them advantages.
- Assault Conquest: This is a faster version of Operations.
- Aerial Combat: The goal is to destroy as many enemy vehicles as possible, including zeppelins.
What is special about the game? In addition to the mentioned game modes, especially the Operations stand out. These are a series of battles extending over up to 3 maps. One team must capture sectors of the enemy squad, which in turn tries to prevent this. Operations are quite extensive fights for 64 players.
Battlefield 1 is one of the 9 best MMOs and online games in the Xbox Game Pass.
