Who is Jane? Jane is a member of the Volturi, the most powerful vampire organization in The Twilight Saga. Along with her twin brother Alec, she is part of the Volturi guard and is particularly feared for her cruelty and effectiveness. Despite her childish appearance, she is one of the deadliest vampires in the world.
Jane can create an unbearable pain illusion with a single glance. Her victim feels as if they are being burned alive – even though they are physically unharmed. The pain is so intense that most cannot defend themselves and immediately collapse.
Why is the ability so strong? Jane’s ability gives her absolute dominance in combat. She can incapacitate any opponent without even having to touch them. Since her attack is lightning-fast and hardly anyone is immune to it, even other powerful vampires fear her power. Only a few, like Bella with her mental shield, can defend themselves against Jane’s torture.
Jane’s gift is one of the most important weapons of the Volturi. It serves both as a means of punishment and as a demonstration of power to intimidate or subdue opponents.
