The Twilight movies have not only introduced us to fascinating vampires but also impressive supernatural abilities that some of them possess. While all vampires are stronger, faster, and nearly immortal, some have a special gift that makes them unique.
In this list, we present five of the most powerful vampire abilities – who possesses them, how they work, and why they are so strong. Selection was made based on three criteria:
- Usefulness in everyday life – How practical is the ability outside of battles?
- Strength on the battlefield – How effective is the ability in a fight?
- Impact on the story – Did the ability play a significant role in The Twilight Saga?
Telepathy (Edward Cullen)
Who is Edward Cullen? Edward Cullen is one of the main characters in The Twilight Saga and a member of the Cullens, a vampire family that refuses to drink human blood. He is known for his self-control, loyalty, and deep love for Bella Swan.
Edward can hear the thoughts of other humans and vampires – but only as long as they are in his vicinity. He doesn’t even need to make eye contact to know what someone is thinking. The only exception is Bella Swan, who is immune to his ability. This is also why he found her interesting from the very beginning.
Why is the ability so strong? Telepathy gives Edward an enormous tactical advantage. He can detect dangers early, see through lies immediately, and even anticipate his opponent’s next moves in a fight. This ability makes him one of the most dangerous vampires, as no one can keep secrets from him.
Even in tense situations, such as with the Volturi or in battles against the newborn army, Edward can make strategic decisions because he knows the intentions of his opponents.
