In Fortnite, randomness decides whether you get a awesome golden SCAR or a pathetic gray pistol as loot. However, some items are pretty much always useless and are rarely or never helpful.

Place 5 – Balloons
Balloons were introduced to the game for Halloween and they can be inflated to float in the air. However, you need five of them, otherwise you just sink slowly to the ground. After a while, they pop by themselves as well.
Why are they useless? There’s actually only one sensible use for them, as balloons can negate fall damage. But hardly anyone is going to sacrifice valuable inventory space for that. Therefore, they are largely pointless!
Place 4 – Launch Pad
When you use the Launch Pad, a tower of metal with a tire trampoline in the middle is immediately created.
Why are they useless? Those who can really build don’t need the Launch Pad. And since it takes up an inventory space, it is not a good trade-off if you could have weapons and healing items instead.
Moreover, the tower is too confusing. Additionally, opponents can easily sneak in from below and attack you from behind using the trampoline.
Place 3 – Revolver
The old version of the revolver was simply a very slow and not very fun pistol.
Why are they useless? The revolver was an extremely unsatisfying weapon. It dealt a lot less damage compared to the hand cannon, had a poor firing rate, and took forever to reload the 6-shot magazine.
The weapon was just not particularly effective. That’s why it was removed in Season 5 and replaced in Season 6 by the better gun.
Place 2 – Minigun
The minigun is a heavy machine gun that allows you to fire continuously without reloading. The weapon only exists as epic and legendary spawns.
Why is it useless? The minigun was once considered too OP, but now it is practically useless. It is only really good for tearing down buildings, and there are better weapons for that as well.
The major problem with the minigun is the long time it takes for this weapon to spin up all the barrels and unleash its full firing rate. Furthermore, you as the shooter are very slow during this time.
All of this makes the weapon practically useless in the fast-paced Fortnite battles. That’s why it’s extremely disappointing when you open a chest and receive a legendary drop, and it’s just the stupid minigun.
Place 1 – Chiller Trap
The Chiller Trap is a type of trap that freezes the opponent’s feet when he steps on it. This causes them to slide around. Otherwise, it does nothing.
Why are they useless? On Reddit, there is a thread with 1.7K upvotes that deals with the uselessness of this item. Players usually throw it away immediately when they accidentally pick it up.
And that, even though it doesn’t take up any inventory space. The Chiller Trap is really the most useless item in the game!
