On reddit, a PS4 player analyzed the data of around 900 players on the PlayStation 4. With this data, he compiled a list showing which PS4 games were particularly popular among this group of core gamers in April 2020: A lot has changed compared to March, but two games are still old acquaintances.
Where does the data come from? The data are not official data from Sony. The reddit user s0vs0v collected the data and explains in his post where it comes from:
- You add “ps-timetracker” to your PSN friend list. This may take a moment
- Once a day, you receive a PSN message containing the statistics of the day.
- At the end of the month, the user combines all this data into one large table.

What data was analyzed? The user collected various data on the games. However, the data is only based on the PlayStation 4. This includes:
- the name of the game
- how many hours the games were played by the friends list
- the number of players on the friends list who played the game during the period
- how many game sessions were started
- how much time players spent on average per game session
How much data was analyzed in total? The data in April comes from 924 players (for comparison: in March 2020 there were 703).
This data represents a group of particularly active players and not the broad mass of users who also play on the PS4.
The leaderboard includes the 100 titles that were most played by these players on the PS4 in April 2020.
What are we presenting to you? We present to you the 5 most played titles.

5th Place – FIFA 20

- FIFA 20 has 2248 play hours with 73 players
- Each player played an average of about 30 hours and 42 minutes
- 1486 game sessions were started, averaging 1 hour and 30 minutes per session.
What is FIFA 20? FIFA 20 is a sports game. You create a team from various players and compete against other players. A highlight is the new feature “Volta”, which brings a street mode to FIFA 20. Additionally, the defensive behavior is significantly better than in the predecessor FIFA 19.
What has happened in the game recently? In May, the Premier League started with Van Dijk. The best players of the season are honored, and there are special TOTSSF cards.
Furthermore, EA has announced that there will be a longer break for TOTW 2020.
