Clash of Red and Black

What happened in this case? The “arc” surrounding the Black Organization comprises a total of 14 episodes. Eisuke Hondo is searching for his sister, who has been missing since a blood donation 10 years ago. He searches for her using a photo of news anchor Rena Mizunashi, as they resemble each other closely. Ran suspects that she is the sister he is looking for, but that cannot be the case due to the blood type.
It also turns out that the news anchor operates under the name Kir and is a member of the Black Organization. However, she is only working undercover there, as she is actually an FBI agent.
However, the Black Organization is unaware of this and attempts to rescue their member through deception and bombs. In later episodes, FBI member Shuichi Akai appears, opposing the Black Organization.
What is special about it? Like in the previously mentioned case, we learn a lot about the ominous Black Organization. This time, even more members are involved, and, as before, there are several twists. For the first time, the FBI takes center stage and can shine in this arc.
The interconnected episodes could be regarded as a full arc since, alongside the four individual cases, there is a larger main story present. The ending is also super dramatic. Kir has to shoot her own FBI colleague. But luck in misfortune: It turns out that the death was only an illusion.
A City Taken Hostage

What happened in this case? Four years ago, Inspector Jinpei Matsuda lost his colleague Kenji Hagiwara while he was defusing a bomb. As fate would have it, four years later he gets involved in a case where a bomber has distributed several bombs throughout the city. Matsuda sacrifices himself to save the lives of millions of people. Inspector Sato had to deal with the loss, as she was in love with him.
Three years later, a series of bombings again keeps the city in suspense. This time it is up to the Detective Boys and Inspectors Takagi and Sato to stop the bomber.
What is special about it? The case features one of the best romances. Takagi and Sato are one of my favorite couples (aside from Ran and Conan), and in the grand finale, they finally get closer. Not just physically, but also emotionally.
Because Sato’s trauma, related to the death of her loved one, makes the episode so dramatic. Her increasingly rising anger and thoughts of revenge show what happens to people when they process a tragic moment. In the end, however, there is acceptance.
