Rank 3: Rhaegal
In third place on this list is Rhaegal, the green dragon of Daenerys. Although he often stands in the shadow of his larger brother, Drogon, his death count stands at 273.
The reason for this is mainly the episode Beyond the Wall
(Season 7, Episode 6), which also placed Jon at Rank 5 on this list. Just when the situation seems hopeless for Jon and his companions, Daenerys arrives with her three dragons to help. In this battle, 170 wights fall to Rhaegal’s dragon fire.
Rank 2: Arya Stark
Arya Stark is one of the most popular characters from Game of Thrones. She may be small and slender, but she is all the more deadly. With her sharp sword Needle
, made of Valyrian steel, she gradually becomes a dangerous assassin. The main reason for this is, of course, her training as a Faceless
.
However, even if one appreciates Arya’s skills, one probably does not reckon with the following number: A proud 1278 deaths have been caused by Arya.
This is due to a heroic moment in the episode The Long Night
(Season 8, Episode 3). In Winterfell, a battle rages between the living and the dead. The situation seems hopeless. But at the last moment, Arya manages to kill the Night King with a stab to the chest. As an immediate result, all of his followers die, and Arya’s death count skyrockets.
Without this episode, she would only have only
64 deaths.
Rank 1: Drogon
Rank 1 is arguably the most dangerous being in Game of Thrones: the black dragon Drogon. He is larger and wilder than his two brothers and was able to breathe fire and hunt from an early age. In the series, he is Daenerys’s personal mount and therefore gets particularly much screentime.
The true power of a fully grown dragon is demonstrated by Drogon in the episode The Bells
(Season 8, Episode 5). Daenerys has fallen into revenge and turns against King’s Landing. With Drogon, she flies over the city and lets fire rain down on her enemies. An estimated 918 people fall victim to the merciless dragon flames, at least on-screen.
But even outside of this battle, Drogon is extremely deadly. A total of 1426 of the 6887 counted deaths in Game of Thrones can be attributed to him, or rather to fire.
Of course, it is not exactly fair to compare the power of a fully grown dragon with that of a simple human. For a somewhat more balanced matchup, we looked at the skills of the best swordsmen in Game of Thrones here at MeinMMO: The 10 best swordsmen from Game of Thrones in the power ranking
