What is Marvel’s Avengers? In Marvel’s Avengers, you take on the role of superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and Ms. Marvel.
The story revolves around the fall of the Avengers, who are now trying to save humanity despite the hatred directed at them after a disaster.
In the story mode, you switch between the roles of the superheroes and must defeat enemies in linear sections and try to reach the level end. You use your superpowers in this process. The Hulk smashes everything while Iron Man attacks in flight.
In addition to the story mode, there is the possibility of accepting missions that take you to various locations around the world. You experience these quests together with up to three other players. However, each superhero can only be represented once in the team.
Over time, you unlock new abilities and costumes for your heroes, allowing you to customize them to your playstyle.
Destiny with Superheroes?
What is the development story so far? When Marvel’s Avengers was announced in 2017, many believed it would be a Destiny with superheroes. However, the presentation of the game at E3 last year was somewhat disappointing. There was no trace of Destiny to be seen.
Marvel’s Avengers is much more a game where you experience the story alone and engage in side missions in small groups. But that can still be fun.
Anything could still happen
What is Marvel’s Avengers at best? We could expect an exciting superhero game where, after completing the story, you experience a lot of missions in teams with friends, showcasing how you have developed your Iron Man or Thor.
What is Marvel’s Avengers at worst? The game could fail to resonate with multiplayer fans due to its focus on the single-player story, which may not be enough to keep the title alive for a long time.
The multiplayer mode is essential for the longevity of the game and must therefore convincingly deliver. Unfortunately, interested players have not seen much of this so far. Perhaps the postponement of the release date by 4 months to September 2020 will make Marvel’s Avengers more appealing in the multiplayer sector.
