Unfulfilled Destiny
This quest is part of the longer “Heart of Light” quest line, which is regarded as one of the larger meta-quests of Legion. In this quest line, you explore the purpose of the Heart of Light while also gaining more knowledge about Illidan Stormrage. You can start the quest in your class hall after completing the many previous steps, which, however, takes quite a while.
The quest turns the typical behavior of World of Warcraft on its head. Instead of charging into battle with a full raid against a raid boss, you are suddenly the raid boss yourself – namely Illidan Stormrage at the top of the Black Temple in the shattered world.
Not only is the quest an incredibly cool idea, allowing you to use many of Illidan’s iconic abilities, but it also has a lot of humor.
You have to stand idly by at the beginning and watch the raid group placing raid symbols everywhere or openly discussing their tactics. You can also see that some characters – such as Johnny Imba – are AFK for the entire fight and do not participate at all.
This pokes fun at typical incidents in raids and gives a wink at how humorous raids actually are when one would translate those events 1:1 into the lore.
