Most quest lines of the Forsaken are relatively dark. Almost always, they involve murder, destruction, or issues concerning the undead. But if you come from the Silverwood and continue your journey into the Hillsbrad Foothills, there’s a brief respite.
In a camp of the Forsaken, there is a quest giver who assigns you a new task: namely his own.
You are to stand around in the camp for a day and distribute quests to adventurers passing by, so the quest giver can have a few hours of peace.
Blizzard used this quest to poke fun at the various player types present in World of Warcraft.
The first NPC to pass by is “Kagbuhn” – an overly motivated undead who has yet to fully understand the game. He writes in all caps all the time, can’t distinguish between NPCs and players, and generally has difficulties reading and a very short attention span.
The second NPC is an old Orc Death Knight, who shows up in overly strong gear and on a powerful flying mount. He brags about his heroic deeds and the great achievements he has accomplished.
Lastly, Johnny Imba comes along – he wants to “skip” the dialogue and is primarily interested in whether there are any special rewards, such as pets or mounts. The fact that he is sitting on a real-money shop mount makes the scene even better.
No matter how funny the quest line is – as you progress through the missions, you encounter the various NPCs again. And some of them meet a rather dark fate, which brings the tone back into the gloomy.
