The name says it all: This fighter from the TIE series is a prototype inspired by the defense fighters from the Galactic Civil War. It appears during the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order in Episodes 7–9.
The lightning-fast fighter serves Kylo Ren as a means to attack a ship of the rebels, the “Raddus”. Just the sight of it must have instilled fear in the ranks of the Resistance. Moreover, the fighter possesses substantial firepower in battle and can rely on several tricks such as stealth systems or deflector shields. With 155 MGLT, the TIE/VN is the absolute leader and the fastest ship with sublight speed.
