In Online shooters weapons are almost more important than your characters. And some games have particularly crazy weapons that are more than just simple pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles. How was it chosen? In our list of various crazy and wacky weapons from online shooters, we focused mainly on weapons that may not be particularly effective, but are at least quite bizarre.
This ranges from funny sound effects, like a howling rocket launcher to crazy designs like the portable sailing ship cannon, to a totally silly thing from Borderlands that literally drives you crazy. We also focused on online and MMO shooters.
Parasite – “The Worm Launcher” (Destiny 2)
What kind of weapon is this? The Parasite is a grenade launcher that was introduced in Destiny 2 with the acclaimed expansion The Witch Queen. It is a powerful new exotic weapon that you only get at the end of the Witch Queen campaign after a series of exotic quests.
The weapon fires explosive projectiles that become stronger depending on how many enemies you have previously defeated. Additionally, the weapon ensures that you receive a buff when you take damage from the explosion. So the weapon is very strong when you are hurt. However, it is especially disgusting and morally ambiguous!
What makes it so crazy? The crazy thing about the “Parasite” is that it doesn’t shoot regular grenades. Instead, the weapon’s description states:
“Worm’s Hunger: This weapon fires Hive Worms that explode upon impact.”
Yes, you read that right, the weapon has apparently weaponized the disgusting Hive Worm larvae from Destiny and downgraded them to ammunition. When reloading the weapon, your Guardian even reaches into their pocket, pulls out a writhing worm larva, and ruthlessly stuffs it into the weapon’s magazine.
Shortly thereafter, the little worm sails through the air and bursts in a disgusting yellow explosion amidst your enemies.
Since worm larvae are actually baby worms in the eyes of some Destiny fans, the use of this weapon has already been hotly debated in the community.
How do you get this crazy gun? As mentioned, you only get the weapon after finishing the Witch Queen campaign. And then you first need to master a questline that also continues the story of the Witch Queen. Only then will you receive the exotic weapon with its disgusting ammunition at the end.
