4. Multiboxer with 107 accounts simultaneously
Those who have been in World of Warcraft in recent years have surely witnessed those strange players. Four or five characters with very similar names, all “running into each other” and executing commands simultaneously. These are usually multiboxers. Players who maintain multiple WoW accounts with one subscription and control all characters at once. This is often a big effort, involving multiple computers, numerous monitors, and a lot of additional software.
4-5 is probably the average number of concurrent accounts when multiboxing, but some players manage even more. Now and then, you see 10 or 20 characters of a player.
But all of this pales in comparison to the player PreparedWoW. At one point, he played 107 accounts simultaneously and was logged in with all characters.
Currently, PreparedWoW now “only” plays 40 accounts simultaneously in World of Warcraft Classic and blows away any approaching opponents in no time. In the retail version of WoW, he still plays a proud 80 accounts in parallel, likely causing many eerie encounters in the open world during war mode.
The whole undertaking is impressive, but also quite expensive. Maintaining 80 subscriptions costs nearly 900€ every month, which is over 10,000€ a year. A proud price to play a video game in a unique way.
But at least, he will never lack for a raid group.
