The Elder Scrolls Online
For all fans of the “Elder Scrolls” series, which peaked with Skyrim until now, The Elder Scrolls Online is a must.
The quest system in The Elder Scrolls Online shows itself classically but includes just the right details to keep story fans engaged for a long time. All quests have been fully voiced and even offer different dialogue options, allowing dialogues to unfold differently. Even if this doesn’t always lead to a different conversation flow, it creates a sense of more freedom.
Numerous cutscenes in the game world provide additional atmosphere, and some missions are presented separately in an instance. For instance, if a village is raided by bandits, you can experience it afterward in its destroyed state and must help the inhabitants.
Since 2019, the story in ESO has been told like a series. With the “Season of the Dragons,” the developers told a coherent story throughout the year. All DLCs released until the end of 2019 dealt with this.
In contrast to most other game presentations here, The Elder Scrolls Online is rated for ages 16 and up, which also leads to a somewhat harsher game world, as fans of the series are already accustomed to.
The Elder Scrolls Online is Buy2Play and also offers an additional subscription, which, however, is not mandatory. If you decide to conclude the subscription, you receive the DLCs for free (and thus new quest content).
What the story is about: Three factions are fighting for control of the fantasy world of Tamriel while being overrun by sinister creatures from another world.
Who the story is suited for: Fans of the old “Elder Scrolls” games, especially Skyrim, and anyone who enjoys a more mature story with cutscenes and full voice acting.
