What is Final Fantasy XIV? The MMORPG FF14 aims to tell you exciting stories, which is why quests are at the center. Together with friends, you explore a vast game world and fight enemies and boss opponents. PvP plays only a subordinate role.
A special feature of the MMORPG is that you define yourself by your equipment. When you change the job crystal, you also change your class. However, you should prepare suitable gear for the new playstyle.
How is the entry into the game? You begin your adventures with a series of simple quests. However, you should quickly look for a group to execute the challenging missions together. This way, you will quickly find your way into the story, and more of the game and its world will gradually unfold to you.
What can you expect in the endgame? The MMORPG FFXIV is filled with exciting endgame content such as instances for players with particularly high levels, like the Nimmerreich. To master these contents, you need to collect endgame gear.
The hunt for badges to upgrade your gear is also part of it. Additionally, there is an Extreme mode for some content that poses particular challenges.
Is there a special upgrade for next-gen? Square Enix has only announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be playable via the backward compatibility of the PS5. The game is expected to load faster thanks to the PS5’s SSD. Further improvements are not ruled out for the future.
There is currently no version for Xbox, but it is being discussed.
How modern does the game feel? Final Fantasy XIV feels timeless. While it doesn’t have exceptionally good graphics, the visuals are very coherent and contribute to the enjoyable atmosphere. The control scheme with the controller is well implemented. FF14 is a classic MMORPG that still plays well today.
