Currently, the Love Cup in the Super League edition is active in Pokémon GO. We will show you which teams can score well here.
What kind of league is this? The Love Cup is a special competition in Pokémon GO where the allowed Pokémon are heavily limited. Only monsters that have the colors red or pink are allowed. The competition runs from February 4, 2025, to February 18, 2025.
In the Super League edition, the maximum allowed strength is also limited to 1,500 CP. We have looked at which Pokémon you should take for this competition and have put together 4 teams for you. The order does not correspond to any ranking.
Team 1: Galar-Lahmus, Miltank, Meditalis

What attacks should the Pokémon have?
- Galar-Lahmus: Poison Sting (Poison), Surf (Water), and Swirler (Dark)
- Miltank: Rock Tomb (Rock), Body Slam (Normal), and Thunderbolt (Electric)
- Meditalis: Psychic Blade (Psychic), Counter (Fighting), and Psycho Cut (Psychic)
If you do not have a Galar-Lahmus with Surf, you will need to use a Top Charge TM. Since it is an exclusive attack, you cannot obtain it by using regular Charge TMs.
What strengths does the team have? With Galar-Lahmus and Miltank, you have 2 monsters in this team that are ranked 2nd and 3rd in the current ranking on pvpoke.com. Both Pokémon can take some hits and also have attacks that cover many different types.
Meditalis can effectively attack Normal-type Pokémon with its Counter, with two representatives, Schlurplek and Miltank, being very strong in this cup and will be encountered quite frequently.
What weaknesses does the team have? Galar-Lahmus is sensitive to attacks from Dark, Ghost, and Ground types. Miltank has only one weakness to Fighting attacks. You should protect your Meditalis from attacks from Fairy, Flying, and Ghost types.
Team 2: Fiaro, Schlurplek, Pixi

What attacks should the Pokémon have?
- Fiaro: Incinerate (Fire), Fly (Flying), and Dive (Flying)
- Schlurplek: Rock Tomb (Rock), Body Slam (Normal), and Earthquake (Ground)
- Pixi: Fairy Breeze (Fairy), Moonforce (Fairy), and Star Shower (Normal)
For this team, you need 2 Top TMs if your monsters do not already know the respective attacks. To learn Incinerate, Fiaro needs a Top Fast TM. Schlurplek requires a Top Charge TM to learn Body Slam.
What strengths does the team have? With Fiaro in the lead, you can use your Charge attacks relatively quickly and often, either to draw out the opponent’s shields with Fly or to deal significant damage with Dive and then swap out Fiaro.
With Schlurplek and Pixi, you still have 2 monsters that can take a lot of damage, have few weaknesses, and also have strong attacks in Earthquake and Moonforce. If you need to swap Fiaro prematurely, Body Slam from Schlurplek can also force the opponent to use their shields.
What weaknesses does the team have? If your opponent has a Pokémon with Rock-type attacks, you should quickly swap out Fiaro. This monster has a double weakness to these attacks. Additionally, it has a single weakness to Electric and Water attacks.
While Schlurplek only has a weakness to Fighting attacks, Pixi should be protected from attacks from Poison and Steel types.
Team 3: Crypto-Magmar, Schlurplek, Golking

What attacks should the Pokémon have?
- Crypto-Magmar: Karate Chop (Fighting), Fire Punch (Fire), and Sandstorm (Ground)
- Schlurplek: Rock Tomb (Rock), Body Slam (Normal), and Earthquake (Ground)
- Golking: Poison Sting (Poison), Drill Run (Ground), and Ice Storm (Ice)
In this setup, there are a total of 4 exclusive attacks that you need to learn with the appropriate Top TMs if you do not already have them. These include Body Slam from Schlurplek and all 3 attacks from Golking.
This team is therefore more suitable for you if you have such a Golking or many Top TMs.
What strengths does the team have? The biggest strength of this team is Schlurplek, which is once again represented in a team, and Golking. Both Pokémon can take quite a bit of damage, so depending on the opposing Pokémon, you can save your shields.
You should better plan your shields for Crypto-Magmar. Since this monster should be played in its Crypto form, it can deal additional damage but can also take less damage.
What weaknesses does the team have? You should protect Crypto-Magmar from attacks of Ground, Rock, and Water types. Schlurplek has only one weakness to Fighting attacks, while Golking has weaknesses to Electric and Grass attacks.
Team 4: Sonnfel, Ariados, Mamolida

What attacks should the Pokémon have?
- Sonnfel: Psywave (Psychic), Rockslide (Rock), and Solar Beam (Grass)
- Ariados: Poison Sting (Poison), Bug Bite (Bug), and Lead (Grass)
- Mamolida: Cascade (Water), Hydro Pump (Water), and Psycho Cut (Psychic)
What strengths does the team have? While you can force the opponent to use their shields with Sonnfel and Ariados, you have a very strong Pokémon for the finish in Mamolida. Not only can it take a decent amount of damage, but it also has two very powerful attacks: Hydro Pump and Psycho Cut.
What weaknesses does the team have? While Sonnfel can deal a lot of damage, it unfortunately also has several weaknesses. It is vulnerable to Bug, Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ground, Steel, and Water. The list of weaknesses is shorter for Ariados. You should protect this monster from Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock attacks.
In contrast, Mamolida is only sensitive to attacks from Electric and Grass types.
Which team should I use? When assembling your team, keep in mind that there is never an ultimate team in the battle league that guarantees you only wins. When choosing your Pokémon, ensure that your attacks cover as many opposing Pokémon as possible.
Also, you should ensure that you have Pokémon that can force your opponent to use their shields, as well as monsters that can withstand the opponent’s attacks without the use of their own shields.
A balanced team, a good strategy, and a bit of luck are the key factors for you to emerge victorious from battles in the battle league.
The fact that you need to spend Top TMs for some monsters should also be considered in your thoughts. If these are limited for you, you should refrain from using certain Pokémon.
Outside of the battle league, there will indeed be many more events and content in the game in the coming weeks. February is especially packed with many strong Pokémon that you should not miss if you do not already have them: 12 of the best Pokémon in Pokémon GO are available in February.
