What is Ashes of Creation? Ashes of Creation is intended to be a game that appeals to all MMORPG fans. The aim is to cater to really all types of MMORPG fans:

What is the development history so far? Ashes of Creation comes from Steven Sharif, a successful businessman who made a fortune selling fruit juices. However, he is also a big MMORPG fan and thus invested some capital in his game project Ashes of Creation, which aims to succeed where Everquest Next failed.
The development process is unusually open. The developers regularly provide insights into their work, which often leads to misunderstandings. For instance, some fans thought for a while that Ashes of Creation was a pure action MMO because of a developer video, while the game has a hybrid combat system.

What is Ashes of Creation at its best? Ashes of Creation looks stunning and offers a plethora of promising content. For example, you will level the game world like a character when you, as a player, improve certain aspects of it.
Thus, a small logging camp can become a flourishing metropolis after hard work. This, in turn, could be contested in an epic war and possibly destroyed.
The hybrid combat system would also be something new, as it allows the player to choose whether they prefer a tactical or dynamic approach. If Ashes of Creation fulfills all these promises, it could finally become the long-awaited new super MMORPG.
Interestingly, the choice of monetization model is: You do not have to purchase Ashes of Creation but instead pay a subscription fee. And if you recommend the game to others, you pay less.
What is Ashes of Creation at its worst? All these grand promises could ultimately turn out to be empty promises. Ashes of Creation just sounds too good to be true. It is quite possible that some of it won’t work out the way the developers promise.
Then, Ashes of Creation would certainly still be good in some areas, but no longer the big hit in the MMORPG segment that it currently aims to be. Some are unsure how well PvE players will fare with the MMO, although the developers assure that: Ashes of Creation is also a game for PvE fans. Because AoC offers open PvP.
