Many countries around the world are imposing lockdowns again and Pokémon GO is suffering from it. Trainers are calling for the return of Corona bonuses. We show you which bonuses should return.
This has happened: In Germany, as well as in other European countries, there are again restrictions on movement. One is only supposed to go out for necessary errands, and many facilities must close again.
This also affects Pokémon GO, as the game really only works well when you are outside. In March of this year, Niantic reacted to the first lockdowns. They brought the Corona bonuses into the game and made playing from home easier. However, the bonuses were discontinued when the infection rate decreased.
Now the Corona numbers are rising again, there are again restrictions on movement (via Tagesschau) and many trainers are demanding that Niantic respond. There need to be more bonuses that facilitate playing from home.
3 Things Pokémon GO Needs to Change Now
Incense needs to be improved: One of the first adjustments at the start of Corona was the improved incense. It attracted more Pokémon and lasted for one hour. While it still lasts for one hour, it now attracts fewer Pokémon.
Here, Niantic needs to make improvements again, as incense was an important item for playing from home. After all, it attracts Pokémon anywhere. No matter whether you live in the city or in the countryside.
Especially for events, such as the Community Days, which have already been announced for November, the improved incense is needed again. This way, you can play from home and still catch a variety of Shiny Pokémon.
More gifts from your buddy again: One of the Corona bonuses was that your buddy now regularly brought gifts. This way, you could continue to supply your friends with gifts, even if you didn’t spin a PokéStop.
This is important again now. The buddy still brings gifts once, but if you have many friends, that is not enough. It is therefore important to be able to get enough gifts for all friends without going outside.
Halved egg distances must be active: For over half a year, the egg distance was halved. You only had to walk a maximum of 5 kilometers to hatch an egg. This was good because it allowed you to hatch eggs without needing to be out and about. Hatching can even be done from home.
Now there are even 12 km eggs in Pokémon GO, and without going outside, it will be quite difficult to open such eggs. Even 10 km eggs are a real challenge.
If Niantic halves the distance again, you have a better chance at the contents of the eggs.
Here’s what you should note: In general, people should take the restrictions on movement seriously. Pokémon GO currently attracts players outside with a variety of events, but these can also be played well from home.
If you are outside, remember the distancing regulations and limit your time outside to a minimum.
Keep in mind that there is currently a risk of infecting yourself and others with the coronavirus. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying home as much as possible, keeping distance from others, and avoiding gatherings.
