Of all the strategies in Warzone in Verdansk, Iron’s reconnaissance strategy is considered the safest – both to reach the endgame and to secure victories.
What are the disadvantages? Once the strategy is up and running, you’ve completed the first two reconnaissance missions, and you are behaving calmly, not much can go wrong until the endgame.
The biggest disadvantage is more of a psychological one. With this tactic, you kill your entire mid-game if you apply it consistently. This can mean that you sit at your camper spot for more than 10 minutes waiting for enemies to approach. You may not be “warmed up” for the final fights, or the boredom might be bothersome.
If there’s a lot going on at your spot, you might also run into equipment shortages. 270 rounds from an automatic assault rifle can run out quickly, and if you move only a little, resupplying can be difficult.
Warzone Strategy 2 – The “Big Bertha” Tactic
With this tactic, you will use a truck (Big Bertha) for the entire match and benefit from the advantages of being in a vehicle. This strategy was especially popular at the release of Warzone and even became the meta playstyle in solo matches.
The tactic has received a rather bad reputation since it relies on trucks. However, even in pro tournaments of Warzone with high prize money, it is still frequently used and is considered a safe way to reach the endgame.
What should I do? The goal of the tactic is to fully exploit your advantages in mobility and armor with the vehicles and outmaneuver enemy teams.
- You can split up or get into an SUV together and then look for a vehicle for each of you
- Loot trophy systems, place them on your vehicles
- Drive together from spot to spot until you are well equipped
- Run over your enemies or overwhelm them with an attack from multiple sides
When you attack enemy teams, be sure to take a strong position when exiting the vehicle. Apply significant pressure, but ensure you are aware of how strong your position is before exiting. Use your vehicles as cover and push towards the opponents from different directions.
When you are fully equipped, you can decide: Do you want to keep driving full throttle or slow down? You can continue to comb through every spot, complete missions and deal with enemies. However, you expose yourself to the danger of losing your advantage and going down.
For a safe path to the endgame, look for a power position on a hill with each new circle and use your vehicles as mobile cover. If you are attacked, defend yourself. Otherwise, only go actively after enemies if you can run them over. Always stay in motion so that snipers can hardly hit you.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Truck Tactic
Why is it so strong? You can bridge open areas with your vehicles and ambush enemies when you attack them with multiple vehicles from different directions. You utilize the four significant advantages of the vehicles:
- Vehicles are well-armored against bullets
- The vehicles are faster than enemies without a car
- You have a larger third-person field of view
- You can run over and eliminate enemies with vehicles
In direct combat against teams, you have advantages with this tactic. You are faster, better armored, and have the initiative. You impose your play style on your enemies, and they must react accordingly. This often brings you to a better position, and you may even run over an enemy, further enhancing your standing.
Poorly equipped enemies who do not have anti-vehicle weapons or could not loot much often have no chance.
What are the disadvantages? You are on the move for the entire match, which carries certain risks. Especially towards the end, enemies will often have established strong positions, and you come in later with the vehicles. You can combine this tactic with a few reconnaissance missions to not be so heavily reliant on the gas circle.
In general, this tactic can be said – the better the enemies are, the less effective the truck strategy is.
Good players are prepared for a vehicle attack, they may have thermite, C4, or a rocket launcher ready to shoot you directly from the cockpit. You also may not surprise them easily, as veterans usually keep a cool head and can anticipate what you plan to do. Additionally, skilled snipers can shoot you out of the vehicles. Since only your head is often visible, headshots are frequently successful.
Warzone Strategy 3 – The Loot Train Tactic
For several seasons, a loot train has been roaming lonely around Verdansk. In this tactic, you exploit reconnaissance missions that spawn on the train to gain an advantage for the endgame.
What should I do? At the start of the match, check if there is a reconnaissance mission on the train. If there is no mission in this match, you cannot fully benefit from the strategy.
- Jump on the train with the mission – Stay together!
- Eliminate all enemies that may land on or near the train
- Start the reconnaissance mission and complete it
- Find cover and keep an eye out for opponents
- The mission will spawn again after a while – grab it and complete it
- Get a loadout crate when passing a buy station
- If you have enough missions, jump off the train when you are as close as possible to the last circle
- Find a power position in the endgame circle
For the mission, you need to occupy a spot on the train. Since the reconnaissance will spawn repeatedly, you simply need to hold the train and you can preview the last circles. You can then quickly move to the uncovered circle or ride the train for as long as possible.
Do not let yourself be tempted to lose concentration on the train. Because you are constantly moving, any enemy team can open fire at any moment. Keep your focus and maintain your cover, then find a strong position in the last circle.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Train Tactic
Why is it so strong? With this tactic, it quickly becomes clear whether it works or not. You will frequently confront other teams who also want to start the strategy. If you win your early fights, you often make it to the endgame if you stay focused. If not – restart or think of something different for this match. Here are some general tips for getting out of the Gulag.
If you have a good start, you will continuously be presented with new reconnaissance missions, allowing you to gather a pile of cash and loot. You don’t even have to move much around Verdansk and are still very well equipped.
Additionally, it is a lot of fun to zip around the city on the train initially. As long as the strategy does not become routine, the train tactic allows for a different kind of Warzone gameplay.
What are the disadvantages? The cover options on the train are not optimal. If you find yourself in a situation where you are under fire from both sides, it can get uncomfortable.
If you do not keep moving, you are also easy targets for snipers. On the train, you are often only covered from one side, and should a sniper take a look at the train, the bullet will come right after.
The biggest disadvantage of the tactic remains its unpredictability. You have no control over whether a reconnaissance mission spawns on the train in a match. Additionally, the fights at the start of the match can often be tough, and a team member may quickly go to the Gulag.
Poor Strategy: The Gas Tactic
What should I avoid? Never let yourself be driven by the gas circle towards the end of the game. While it cannot always be avoided, if you have a choice, find a spot within the circle before the gas forces you to act. You then have two significant disadvantages compared to your enemies:
- Your paths become predictable because you have fewer options
- You are under time pressure, further restricting your ability to act
Even though there are situations where knowing that no enemy can be behind you is beneficial, you give your enemies in front of you an advantage. They can better anticipate what you plan to do, and you cannot quickly refresh your plates because death is also approaching from behind.
The smaller the play area gets, the sooner you should seek a power position in the next circle. Use missions to know where you need to go.
