Although the 2nd season of The Last of Us has not even started yet, HBO can already celebrate a new record. This is thanks to the latest trailer.
With the episodes of the first season, The Last of Us managed to reach an average of 32 million viewers across all platforms in the USA. The season finale alone attracted over 8.2 million viewers in one day (via Deadline).
The new trailer for season 2 has only been available for a few days and has already caused quite a stir. Not only for MeinMMO editor Jasmin Beverungen, who was particularly moved by a very brief scene from the teaser, but also because of the huge viewer numbers. They swelled in the first 3 days after the trailer’s release to such an extent that they virtually pulverized a company record of HBO.
What kind of record is it? According to the figures from Warner Bros. Discovery (via Deadline), the viewer numbers for the new trailer surpassed the views of previous teasers by 160%, more than double. They stood at around 158 million viewers after the first 3 days.

Fans are not ready for season 2 despite incredibly high numbers
Not surprisingly, many comments with thousands of likes are gathering on the YouTube page of the streaming provider Max. Various feelings of the numerous fans are expressed there. Despite the hype about season 2, some are feeling very uneasy:

That the fans’ concerns are not unfounded is also revealed by an insider, as one of the leading figures has announced that the second season of The Last of Us will be even harder than the second part of the game series.
On the X account, Max has already started the countdown to episode 1 of the second season and announces that it will only take one more month. The hype should not diminish as a result.
