With so many available fighters in Pokémon Unite, it is always exciting to see what the community thinks about them. Therefore, we wanted to know from you which three Pokémon you prefer to take into battle. We evaluated the survey and now show you the 22 Pokémon in your ranking.
What’s it about? The MOBA Pokémon Unite now includes a variety of pocket monsters. Each has its own specialties and strengths. Additionally, some Pokémon are played in specific sections of the battle arena – Bot, Top, or Mid Lane (Jungle).
In a survey, we wanted to find out which Pokémon you like to play the most. The Pokémon Blastoise was not implemented in the game at the time of the survey, which is why it does not appear in this evaluation.
These are the results: A total of 762 MeinMMO readers participated in the survey, and each of you had three votes available. In total, there were 1913 individual votes.

Now let’s move on to the top 10 of your favorites.
Rank 10: Charizard (Charizard)
- Battle Type: All-Rounder
- Preferred Lane: Top or Bot Lane
- Equippable Held Items:
- Muscle Band
- Energy Amplifier
- Buddy Barrier
- Focus Band
This is Charizard: Charizard is an old hand among Pokémon and belongs to the three iconic starter Pokémon of Generation 1 of the main series. In Pokémon Unite, it also utilizes its fiery powers with attacks like Fire Spin and Flamethrower.
Its Unite Move “Seismic Slam” also recalls old Pokémon episodes, where it grabbed opponents, lifted them into the air and then slammed them down to the ground with full force. Charizard benefits from partners like Mr. Mime, Blissey, or Eldegoss, who support it diligently at the start.
With one more vote, namely 79 in total (4.13%), it surpasses Gardevoir and secures its place in the top 10 of your favorites.
Rank 9: Pikachu
- Battle Type: Attacker (special)
- Preferred Lane: Top or Bot Lane
- Equippable Held Items:
- Energy Amplifier
- Buddy Barrier
- Wise Glasses
- Shell Bell
This is Pikachu: Everyone knows Pikachu, right? The mascot has imprinted itself in the minds of some grandparents and is simply indispensable in the franchise. The electric mouse has also been with us since Generation 1 of the main series and is Ash’s eternal partner in the series.
With the attacks Electro Ball and Thunderbolt, it can electrify opponents properly and deal heavy damage. Pikachu appreciates partners like Snorlax, Slowbro, or Alolan Ninetales on the lane. Together they can really annoy opponents by inflicting movement incapacity.
Pikachu is probably a bit cleverer than Charizard and sneaks past Charizard with 80 votes (4.18%) to rank 9.
Rank 8: Absol
- Battle Type: Speedster
- Preferred Lane: Jungle
- Equippable Held Items:
- Score Shield
- Attack Weight
- Scope Lens
- Muscle Band
This is Absol: The mysterious, graceful and slightly dark Pokémon Absol belongs to the Dark type. It was introduced along with the Hoenn region in the 3rd main series game. In Pokémon Unite, it lives up to its type “Speedster.”
It moves quickly with attacks like Feint, Night Slash, or Pursuit in specific directions and rarely leaves opponents alive when it comes into play. As high as Absol’s critical damage is, its defense is equally low. If it doesn’t escape in time, it stands a very good chance of feeling the wrath of the opponent’s Pokémon and getting knocked out.
Absol has left Pikachu in the dust and occupies rank 8 on this list with 4.81% (92 votes).
Rank 7: Gengar
- Battle Type: Speedster
- Preferred Lane: Jungle
- Equippable Held Items:
- Sp. Atk. Specs
- Wise Glasses
- Shell Bell
- Score Shield
This is Gengar: The Ghost Pokémon Gengar also comes from Generation 1 of the main series and has likely given you a nightmare or two at Jens’ Teak City Arena in Johto or in Pokémon Unite.
At one point, Gengar was the most feared Pokémon in Unite with its Sludge Bomb and Hex combination. However, since it has been weakened, it is now rarely seen in battles. Yet it can still annoy opponents significantly with the attack Dream Eater, especially when combined with a Wigglytuff or Snorlax. However, Gengar prefers to disappear into the jungle.
Even though it is played less in Unite, Gengar has still made it to rank 7 with 107 votes (5.59%).
Rank 6: Snorlax (Snorlax)
- Battle Type: Defender
- Preferred Lane: Top Lane
- Equippable Held Items:
- Focus Band
- Buddy Barrier
- Score Shield
- Aeos Cookie
This is Snorlax: Who hasn’t thought “Aww” as Snorlax joyfully runs through Pokémon Unite? The round, lazy, and gluttonous Pokémon is the last on this list that comes from Generation 1 of the main series.
Snorlax is one of the best fighters in Unite. It can keep opponents at bay with its shield, cause damage with Heavy Slam, and leave opponents immobile. Additionally, it has the ability to put opponents to sleep with Yawn. If you encounter a teammate with Wigglytuff in important battles who can also put opponents to sleep, this can create a deadly combo for the enemies.
Often, this defender is left behind on a lane. You can trust it to protect the goals. Pokémon like Pikachu or Ninetales are also liked by Snorlax.
With 6.17% (118 votes), Snorlax rolls past Gengar to secure rank 6 on the list.
