Dota 2 – MOBA
Genre: MOBA | Developer: Valve | Release Date: July 9, 2013 | Steam Deck Compatibility: Playable
What is Dota 2? The MOBA is based on the popular Warcraft 3 mod “Defense of the Ancients” and provides you with a variety of different heroes to jump into battle with.
You look down on your character from above and fight together with your teammates against opposing groups. The heroes in Dota 2 each have different abilities that you can shine with in combat.
During the match, you level up your hero, collect gold, and equip him with items. The goal is to destroy the enemy base.
Who is Dota 2 for? Dota 2 is more suitable for experienced MOBA players, as it has quite complicated game mechanics and may not represent the easiest entry game in the genre. However, Dota 2 offers more strategic depth than, for example, LoL and thus provides veterans with a good opportunity to challenge themselves.
Dota 2 is also a major game in the e-sports arena: Valve permanently bans 10 players, ending lucrative pro careers forever.
